Brad and Angie Nab BAFTA Nominations

Posted on Thu Jan 15, 2009 08:25 AM PDT

Brad Pitt BradAngieBAFTA.jpgEven though they haven't had much luck winning awards so far this year, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will get another chance to take home the prize at this year's British Academy film awards.

Brad picked up a BAFTA nomination for best actor and his film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is up for a total of 11 awards - including best picture.

Angelina got the nod in the best actress category for Changeling. She's up against double Golden Globe winner Kate Winslet - who is nominated twice in the BAFTA best actress category for her performances in The Reader and Revolutionary Road. Meryl Streep and Kristin Scott Thomas round out the best actress competition.

In the best actor category, Pitt is joined by fellow nominees Dev Patel from Slumdog Millionaire; Sean Penn in Milk; Frank Langella for Frost/Nixon; and Mikey Rourke in The Wrestler.

The late Heath Ledger was nominated for best supporting actor for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight.

The winners will be announced at London's Royal Opera House on February 8th.

Check out a list of nominees after the jump!

Meryl Street??? You guys really need to spell check, you won't look as stupid! Almost every story I read on this website has spelling errors.

Brad doesn't convey a single emotion in Benjamin Button. As the critics say, he's passive for almost 3 hours. Angelina spends 2 hours screaming her way through The Changeling. Lone woman taking on the system to find missing loved one. Where have I heard that one before? Mighty Heart except now she's in 1920's L.A. Boooooooring!

Enough with these two. Hollywood needs to find some new celebrities. Preferably ones with a little more talent.

Posted by: Anonymous

Don't ever underestimate their talent for PR.

Posted by: Anonymous

The first poster might want to check her eyesight. Don't see Streep's name misspelled. But I agree with the others. These two are boooooring. And so completely over-exposed. Awards show nods are bought and paid for by the studios. If the Golden Globes are any indication, the nominations are as far as they're going to get. People practically turned making fun of them into an art form at the Globes. Thank you Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet.

I never thought I would find a more vomit-inducing PR oriented celebrity couple than Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. I was wrong.

Posted by: Anonymous

Aren't these two just the Heidi and Spencer of the awards show set?

Posted by: Anonymous

I think most people in Hollywood know that you can be a big movie star and get lots of awards show nominations without turning your entire relationship and family into a giant reality show. They know better than anyone how much Brad and Angelina manipulate the press. That's probably why they were making fun of BRAND-gelina at the Globes. Kate Winslet forgetting the most famous woman in the world's name. That was not an accident. That was a hilarious public diss. Thank you Kate.

10:37 LMAO. I never thought about it like that, but, you are so right B&Ang are the Heidi and Spencer of the Golden Globes they are a huge joke among the serious actors. Kate Winslet you made my night when u forgot Angelina in your category. The fake smile on Angie's face was yet another proof that she has no acting skills unless it is playing a crazy person(Girl Interrupted) in which it was art imitating life.

Brad must have forgotten Angie's name too. He recently referred to her in an LA Times interview as "The woman I am currently with." Doesn't exactly sound like he plans on spending the rest of his life with her.

Posted by: Anonymous

All that botox has left Angie with very few facial expressions. Would you want to spend the rest of your life with a miserable sourpuss who tries to fake smile her way through awards shows and red carpet events. If that's how she looks in public I can only imagine the long face she drags around at home.

Neither one of their movies were as popular as other movies out at the same time. Maybe that's why neither Pitt-face nor Ho-ly girl actually won an award. Either that or because he is past his prime and her big, fact lips hijack the screen.

The way the media keeps dotting on them is getting older than dirt.

Posted by: Anonymous

Was that pic photoshopped? If you look at Angelina's face closely, it sure does look like it.

The talk of town, if critic or praise;
they are still very popular. For Brad
to fall for Angela says something very
positive of his character; look at all those children. Angela is very caring
as a mother and wife; a made for Hollywood dream, only it's real. There's
too many problems in this world and they
didn't cause them, so please; wish them well.

What happened to the days of morals and Hollywood having morals. Why does the media and Hollywood keep 'celebrating' Brad and angelina being a couple. What morals does it teach todays young girls about not being married and having babies. Oh and ah, being married and having sex with another person, or being a homewrecker. :::::::::::: It's obvious X17 favors homewrecking pigs, rather than wholesome people like Kate Winslet, Demi, to name only 2. If Angie was still a gothy, self cutting lezbo, would they still rave about her? Probably not. Only because she's with Brad Pitt. If she were still with Billy Bob Thorton would she still be the media item she is today? Remember when she made out with her brother at the Oscars? A person's past can never be erased and redefined. No matter how hard a whore tries to cover up her image with fancy designer clothes and adopting children, she'll forever be a whore on the inside.

1:18: 'For Brad to fall for Angela says something very positive of his character...' HAHAHAHA!!! And that would be what UNFAITHFUL in marriage. How is Angelina very caring as a mother? Do you presonally know her? From what the media SHOWS us, Brad is the mother/father and they have a nanny. As the media puts it, she depressed, won't eat and has weird nicknames for her children. plus, she can't wait to show her children 'Mr. and Mrs. smith' so they can see where mommy and daddy fell in love. Kinda weird she wants to show them a movie that has guns, violence and sex in it. But that's skanky Angie for ya!

Posted by: me

Honestly, they both deserve to win!!!!

Posted by: Andrew

Kate Winslet left her husband for Sam Mendes. Why don't you trash her? Winslet wholesome? I think not. Demi wholesome? Do you even know her sleazy past? Obviously not.
You people sound nuts. You are also incredibly stupid for believing made up stories in tabloids.

If you want to criticize their movies it would help to see them first. From your desciption it is clear you didn't see either movie.

Most of the negative comments here about the couple in question are either true haters or paid posters employed by jennifer aniston. it's high time this is revealed and that's a fact.

I NOMINATE THEM FOR THE DING AND DONG AWARD. I ALSO SECOND THEIR NOMINATION FOR THE BIGGEST JACKASSES AWARD. FINALLY, PEOPLE STOP GOING TO THEIR MOVIES OR BUY MAGAZINES WITH THESE TWO DUMMIES "P.R.'D" TO DEATH. WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT THEM....HE'S AN IDIOT AND SHE'S A WACKO SLUT.

Are you hoping Britney Spears guest stars on Modern Family?

Yes! She has a funny personality and would fit in perfectly on the ABC comedy.
No! She would be horrific on the show and would tarnish its reputation.
Don't know! But it would be a great way for the show to get even bigger ratings.
