Brad Pitt Calls Tom Cruise's Valkyrie "Ridiculous"

Meow! Who knew these former co-stars (remember Interview With A Vampire?) had beef with one another?!
Brad Pitt sat down with the German magazine Stern and gave an interview about his upcoming Nazi flick Inglourious Basterds, and when the reporter asked what he thought about Tom Cruises's WWII-era Nazi film Valkyrie, Brad said, "It was a ridiculous movie." Okay, so it wasn't exactly an Oscar contender, but taking a swipe like that at Tom? What has he ever done to Brad?! It's not like he's Billy Bob Thornton!
So what did Brad have to say about his own flick? "The second World War could still deliver more stories and films, but I believe that Quentin [Tarantino] put a cover on that pot," he said. "With Basterds, everything than can be said to this genre has been said. The film destroys every symbol. The work is done, end of story."
Do you think Basterds will really live up to the hype? Sure, it's Quentin, but is this flick really going to be THAT amazing?
Somehow we think Brad's going to regret this!

I can't stand Tom Cruise BUT I think that Brad just lost some cool points. Really inappropriate.

Yeah, IB is so great he couldn't be bothered to attend the premiere. This film will tank. BP isn't a box office draw anymore. It's regrettable for QT as it sounds like he put a lot into this movie. He should've stuck with his old casting method. Having a big name doesn't guarantee box office. When will they finally get that.
Interview sounds like some personal agenda and another desperate effort to stir up controversy for the film. It must really stink.
Not a fan of Tom Cruise anymore, but I saw Valkyrie in the movies and thought it was great. I've been planning to watch it again soon. All the reviews I've seen for Basterds so far have been awful.
I doubt Brad said this because he isn't known to bash other people or films. I could have sworn that Tom gave an interview within the past year and had nothing but good things to say about Brad. So I don't think there is any problem between them.

Brad Pitt fell in love with himself and he's no gem. I won't even see his films anymore and if he didn't notice so were the reviews bad. I am not a fan of Tom Cruise but he's a fra better actor than Brad Pitt whose not aging well. The great gifts they give for charity remain tax writeoffs and the kids they buy from third world countries when they ignore American black orphans proves theirs is a business venture with free International PR for life. Pitt and Jolie are self induclgent sickos aging quickly. I appaud Tomn Cruise over Brad Pitt and if not for Pitt's big mouth, we'd not have had to make a choice. Now we have. Brad made himself naked for us to see his faults and how about how ugly he is today.. maybe the inside is coming out.
Hopefully, this is all just hype. Otherwise, BP is just a basterd for saying that about his fellow actor-colleague out in the open.

I think Brad Pitts acting career went to his head, it must have happened when he was acting like a homo in "Alexander". Tom Cruise is a way better actor and real action star. Brad Pitt is right on target here. Unfortunately Volkyrie was a great movie and the plot was wonderful--the lead actor sucked. I can only wonder if Tom would have TRIED to act in some sort of character and with a german accent it would have been awful instead of horrific. I think it would have been a great movie with Val Kilmer in it (minus a few lbs) he would have made the movie a classic.

I thought Valkyrie was pretty good and if we are going to knock every movie that does not live up to its ACCENTS, that would would cover a lot of actors and alot of non-English speaking movies as well.
