Brad Pitt Stands Strong On Gay Marriage

Brad Pitt once said that he and partner Angelina Jolie would only get married when all Americans had the right to marry, and he seems to be standing strong by that declaration.
In a statement to People, Pitt comments on New York's decision to legalize same-sex marriage:
- "It is encouraging that New York has joined the movement to grant equal marriage rights to its citizens. But it is each American's Constitutional right to marry the person they love, no matter what state they inhabit. No state should decide who can marry and who cannot. Thanks to the tireless work of so many, someday soon this discrimination will end and every American will be able to enjoy their equal right to marriage."
However, rumors are that Pitt, 47, and Jolie, 36, have been remodeling their French chateau home with plans to marry there in the fall. At the Cannes Film Festival in May, Pitt said, "The kids ask about marriage ... It's meaning more and more to them. So it's something we've got to look at." He and Jolie have six children.

Perhaps Pitt needs to familiarize himself with something called the 10th amendment before he speaks. Just because he feels strongly about something doesn't make it a "constitutional right".
He speaks the truth. Equal taxes=equal rights. Times are changing. This homophobic generation will die off and the next will be much kinder to their fellow man.
I call total BS on his claim that the kids keep asking about marriage. Even the oldest kids aren't old enough to understand the whole marriage thing.
I think he said that for the PR knowing the press would go nuts over his comments. Nice way to sell a movie, Brad.
