Did Brangelina Snub The Academy!?

Usually it's the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that's responsible for a snub, but this year, it appears to be the other way around!
Though other A-listers (Kate Winslet and Anne Hathaway, to name a few) attended the Oscar Nominees Luncheon in Beverly Hills yesterday, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were noticeably absent. But why?
Turns out the couple are currently overseas promoting their films, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Changeling, so they decided to stay there rather than fly out to LA for the event. But with the amount of time and money they spend traveling, you'd think they would have showed up!
Do they think they're too good for the Academy, or was this simply a scheduling conflict? Hmmm...
Think something like this will affect their chance at taking home Oscar gold? We'll see!
