Did Brangelina Snub The Academy!?

Usually it's the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that's responsible for a snub, but this year, it appears to be the other way around!
Though other A-listers (Kate Winslet and Anne Hathaway, to name a few) attended the Oscar Nominees Luncheon in Beverly Hills yesterday, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were noticeably absent. But why?
Turns out the couple are currently overseas promoting their films, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Changeling, so they decided to stay there rather than fly out to LA for the event. But with the amount of time and money they spend traveling, you'd think they would have showed up!
Do they think they're too good for the Academy, or was this simply a scheduling conflict? Hmmm...
Think something like this will affect their chance at taking home Oscar gold? We'll see!

Too good for the Academy? Hardly. But they are sore losers. Neither are front runners and they know it. In fact they're mainly in the race for the PR they bring, which is largely is self generated, as verified in a recent NY Times article, but was widely suspected anyway. On top of that, word is mounting that Pitt took Benicio Del Toro's rightful spot as a nominee.
Given all this, there's not that much incentive for them to show up, EVEN if they weren't abroad promoting. Best to do what they do best, drag the kids out for stunt promotion. Hey it's working right?

This is a stupid story. X17 is so biased it isn't even funny. Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman also didn't attend. Why isn't there a headline about them snubbing the Academy and thinking they are too good to attend? Brad and Angelina were in Tokyo for the BB premiere. It doesn't make sense to take a 12 hour right after the premiere for a lunch and picture when they probably have other committments in Asia or went to London for the BAFTA Awards. Tokyo to LA to London is not a fun trip especially with six kids. Meryl only had a 5 or 6 hour flight from NYC and didn't think it was worth it.
I doubt they can be one day at the oscars and the next day in Asia with all the kids... lets not be that poisoning...

Why would they go just to sit there all bored knowing that they aren't winning anything. Theve showed up a few times and just gotten blown off, so why bother. They can stay at home and look at nude Jenn photos all night. Then make more babies at the fab thought of winning Brad away from his wife and leaving her with the like of John Mayor. Wouldnt you do the same. Poor Jenn. again.
