Brad Pitt left a studio in Hollywood on Wednesday afternoon, and this is the first time we've seen the actor since partner Angelina Jolie revealed on Tuesday that she underwent a double mastectomy.

Yesterday we spotted Brad pulling a duck and cover in his car after leaving a meeting at Sony Studios, and while he's been busy taking care of Angie, he also has two films in post-production and World War Z hits theaters in a little over a month. Brad, who is usually quite trim, looks like he's gained a few pounds, and though he appeared to be in good spirits, he looked totally drained today. Hopefully he's not stressing too much about his lady love!

After the news broke, Brad spoke to USA Today about Angelina's shocking surgery, and he said, "She could have stayed absolutely private about it and I don't think anyone would have been none the wiser with such good results. But it was really important to her to share the story and that others would understand it doesn't have to be a scary thing. In fact, it can be an empowering thing, and something that makes you stronger and us stronger."

Pitt added that the experience has been "an emotional and beautifully inspiring few months. And I'll tell you, it's such a wonderful relief to come through this and not have a spectre hanging over our heads. To know that that's not going to be something that's going to affect us. My most proudest thing is our family. This isn't going to get that."

Brad Pitt chatted with USA Today about partner Angelina Jolie's decision to undergo a double mastectomy after learning that she had about an 87% chance of developing breast cancer, and the 49-year-old actor reveals that he has been "quite emotional" about it all.

"She could have stayed absolutely private about it and I don't think anyone would have been none the wiser with such good results," he says. "But it was really important to her to share the story and that others would understand it doesn't have to be a scary thing. In fact, it can be an empowering thing, and something that makes you stronger and us stronger."

Pitt said the experience has been "an emotional and beautifully inspiring few months. And I'll tell you, it's such a wonderful relief to come through this and not have a spectre hanging over our heads. To know that that's not going to be something that's going to affect us. My most proudest thing is our family. This isn't going to get that."

Pitt also noted that "just weeks" after she had had the surgery she visited Congo, as well as London for the G-8 Foreign Ministers Conference and New York City for the Women in the World Summit.

So how are the couple's six children handling mom's recovery? "We set up our own little post-op recovery that became pretty fun. You make an adventure out of it."

Brad Pitt got back to work earlier today following his soon-to-be wife Angelina Jolie's announcement that she underwent a preventative double mastectomy.

The actor headed to Sony Studios to get back to business. He currently has two films, The Counselor and Voyage of Time in post-production. His apocalyptic flick World War Z hits theaters on June 21.

Jolie wrote a New York Times op-ed today admitting that she ended three months worth of treatment on April 27. Her doctors had estimated that she had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer. Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died of breast cancer in 2007 at the age of 56. Brad, her future mother-in-law Jane, and her brother have all expressed pride today.

"Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie's choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic," Brad told The London Evening Standard. "I thank our medical team for their care and focus. All I want is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family."

Jolie also paid tribute to her fiance in the article for his undying support during the strenuous time.

"I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive," she wrote. "So to anyone who has a wife or girlfriend going through this, know that you are a very important part of the transition. Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has."

"We're so very proud of Angie, this means so much to our family especially our grandchildren. We love her dearly," Jane Pitt said in a statement.

The actress' brother James Haven echoes the sentiments!

"My sister, like our mother, always put her children first. I am so grateful to be her brother," Haven said in his own statement.

Health scares are never easy, but at least Miss Jolie has a wonderful family to fall back on!

Brad Pitt Calls Angelina Jolie "Heroic" Following Her Double Mastectomy

She's lucky to have such a supportive sweetie!

Following Angelina Jolie's admission in a New York Times op-ed piece that she recently underwent a preventative double mastectomy after learning she carried the BRCA1 gene that greatly increased her chances of breast and ovarian cancer, her partner Brad Pitt is speaking out about her bravery regarding the difficult decision.

"Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie's choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus. All I want is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family," he gushed to the The London Evening Standard.

The Oscar winner revealed her decision to undergo the operation was heavily influenced by the love she has for her brood and her beau.

"I can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer. It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that's it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was," Jolie wrote in the piece.

We applaud Miss Jolie for speaking out and raising awareness!

Brad Pitt Covers Vanity Fair, Producers Talk About Problems With World War Z

Apr 30, 2013 11:55 AM

Brad Pitt covers the new issue of Vanity Fair, and while the magazine hasn't released any of his quotes, they have shared some excerpts from their chats with World War Z producers and studio execs who detail the disasters they encountered while making the film.

Screenwriter Damon Lindelof tells the mag, "[Pitt] took me through how excited he was when he read the book, what was exciting for him, the geopolitical aspect of it ... But when we started working on the script, a lot of that stuff had to fall away for the story to come together. We started shooting the thing before we locked down how it was going to end up, and it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to.”

When asked about watching the director's cut, VF reports that the room was completely silent and Paramount executive Marc Evans noted, “It was, like, Wow. The ending of our movie doesn’t work. I believed in that moment we needed to reshoot the movie. We were going to have long, significant discussions to fix this." Yikes!

The script had to be re-written, 40 minutes of the film had to be re-shot and the budget rose to around $200 million, so we're curious to see what Pitt has to say about the film. Still, after watching the first two trailers, we are still very excited to see it, even though it looks nothing like the book we read and loved...

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took their six children to the family's Santa Barbara mansion over the Easter weekend, and from shopping to taking ATVs out on the beach, the family had a blast!

On Saturday Angelina took her youngest boys to a local arts and crafts store, and while they didn't sell any candy at the shop, you know Brangelina spoiled their kids rotten with all sorts of sweet treats on Easter Sunday! Wonder if they're still eating tons of junk food and hitting up McDonalds every other week?

The next day daddy Brad let Knox ride in his lap on an ATV, and Pax and Maddox rolled solo on mini dirtbikes while Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne played in the sand. But why wasn't mama Angelina at the beach? Maybe she's still adjusting to the right time zone after her UN trip to Africa?
