It's sad to see how Brad and Angie are dressing Shiloh like a boy. Shiloh is 3 years old and at the age they don't pick their clothes, they put whatever the parents hand it to them.
I feel sad for Shiloh, because my Mom used to do stuff like that to me, giving me boyish clothes, and saying "she is the boy of the family", and she never said that to my sister. It got me confused because I knew I was a 6 year old girl but my mom was calling me a boy, with so much pride, like is a good thing, that I just let it be... then she did subtle little things, or comments that make me feel like a boy... then I started acting boyish and hiding my long hair and dressing boyish because I knew that will make my mom smile, when you're kid all you want to do is make your parents happy, and for their approval.
Anyway, now looking back I feel I miss out because I wish I grew up like every other little girl interested in girly clothes, stuff, etc... Too bad, I let my mom's words influence me in who I was.
Finally, when I was 17 years old I started dressing girly, and let my long hair down. I'm straight, in my 30's and up to this day when I remember what my mom did... I get mad at her and resent her for that! However, we have never talked about this....
I just hope that same thing doesn't happens to Shiloh...

All kids need guidance we can't give into them and there every want, this is how kids learn who the parent is and who the kid is. When I was young my mom used to have my hair cut like a pixi. I hated it. I was large and not very dainty. Most girly dresses were given to my cousin and I got the frumpier, manley stuff. Later on in an all girl play for the girl scouts they gave me the role as the "bad one" a role to have been played by a boy. I was always so embarrassed. In high school all the cool girls were tom boys in soft ball and such and made fun of me because I did not even know what a back stop was.

I now grown long hair, have a daughter and never once cut all her hair off and let her wear the prettiest dresses ever.

I sometimes get attracted to tom boys though most times I just let it go.
