Here's my thought for the day: The justice system can only work if people have faith in it. If people do not believe in it, the entire system fails. I'm sure that part makes enough sense to most people without my having to go into all the details, so on to the next point. Britney has had accusations about her parenting skills thrown at her for quite some time now, starting a long time ago when she was still with Kevin. There was the time she almost dropped Sean, and the driving incident, and numerous other stories that may or may not have been true (the first two we KNOW are true). Britney is an icon, therefore many many people all across America and the world pay attention to what she does, and the stories surrounding her life. Ever since the stories about her skills as a mother came out more and more doubt about her capacities have begun to arise. Earlier this year, around the time she went to rehab, it is arguable that the majority of citizens residing in the US had negative views about her skills as a mother, valid or not, this is how they felt. Enter the custody battle. Now, we all know there have been mistakes, but we don't know how serious they truly were. We only know the teeniest bit of truth from the tabloids. But the court system still knows how we, the majority, feel about his case. Britney isn't doing a good job. So how would our faith in the legal system hold up if they didn't at least take the children away when KFed challenged her custody with his accusations? We'd lose faith, that's what would happen. It wouldn't destroy the justice system, but it would be a good blow. My point is, you can't fully assume there are TERRIBLE things about her in the documents because the kids are temporarily in the custody of Kevin. If they were that terrible this new custody arrangement wouldn't be temporary, it would be final until further notice. The justice system doesn't just have to look out for the children, it has to look out for itself.

Well how do you think they do that? WITH THE DNA! SO, they are therefore able to access the DNA LONG before birth, by around 12 weeks, and if they can do that, then they can do a paternity test as well.

Oh yes, and one more thing, (I know I know, enough already) the mother doesn't produce the amniotic fluid, it is all a part of the wonderful package included with the growth of the embryo. By the embryo, for the embryo. Take a genetics or biology class somewhere besides grade school and then we can 'chat' some more.

Actually amniotic fluid is predominantly fetal urine—no DNA in pee I don’t think. What they can do is chorionic villi sampling----you go in with a needle and take a sample of the chorion (the lining kind of between the amniotic sac and the placenta---and I think that has fetal DNA in it----I think they only do that to rule out some genetic problem. It comes with risks, so can’t imagine subjecting the fetus to a test strictly to determine paternity.

Don’t think I’ve ever heard of a paternity test prior to birth----can’t imagine a doctor agreeing to it (unless maybe they already had to do the sampling to rule out a serious health problem.

To obtain prenatal samples, one of the following two procedures is performed depending on the stage of pregnancy:

Chorionic Villi Sampling (CVS). During the 10th to 13th week of pregnancy, a small sample can be taken from the placenta, a membrane that partially surrounds the developing fetus. This procedure is performed either transcervically (through the vagina) or transabdominally (through the abdominal wall).

Amniocentesis – During the 14th to 24th week of pregnancy, a sample of amniotic fluid can be drawn. The amniotic fluid, found in the sac surrounding the developing fetus, contains fetal cells that can be used for DNA analysis. Sampling is performed transabdominally—a needle is inserted through the abdominal wall to extract amniotic fluid.

Both of these procedures, which are used to test for genetic birth defects and other possible health problems with the baby, are performed by an OB/GYN. Because the procedures are invasive, there is a slight risk of infection and a smaller risk of miscarriage. We urge the mother to consult her OBGYN for more information about these risks.

My girlfriend who has been trying to have a baby for five years. Broke down to me yesterday, amoung many other examples was God allowing Britney to have two kids.
How she was jealous of Britney, because she got to see two babies first smiles. She wanted to teach first words and sing lullabyes, She wished she could just sit on the floor for hours playing with trucks and cars with those boys. she wanted to Listen to the awesome laughter a toddler makes and how they fumble new words. she yearned to carry the sleepy toddlers to bed , tuck them in at night and kiss their foreheads. Even tantrums in the supermarket makes her smile in amazement. she told me a great trick at handling the " NO " stage she had researched. In fact, She had already known so much about children and researched up to age 7. I was so impressed. she said, she took classes and studied for hours the first year she was trying to have a baby.
