Did the c-ship approve plans for a world tour? Of course it did!

Did the c-ship tell Britney a tour will hurt her slim chance to regain custody? Probably not!

Touring will necessitate Britney spending LESS TIME with the boys not more time. I doubt the court will restore custody after she returns from a world tour. By that time, the boys will have lived with their father in a stable, loving home for 2 or more years. Courts do NOT disrupt children's lives unless they have a compelling reason. Comparing Britney’s precarious, non custodial parental status and her pending world tour with a custodial mom’s work schedule (even one who periodically must travel) is absolutely ludicrous!

As a parent, I am fully aware the first five years of a child’s life are crucial for bonding, emotional, intellectual and physical development. Britney has not been a consistent, full time presence in the boys lives since Sean Preston was 8 months old and Jayden James was 4 months old. Why? Because the court deemed Britney an unfit custodial mother.

I think it’s wonderful Britney is currently a consistent, part time presence in the boys lives. She has two day visits lasting a few hours and one overnight. She will be eligible for an additional overnight by the end of the year. Britney is finally engaging with the boys and experiencing the joys of motherhood.

Lets briefly discuss the impact of the c-ship.

The c-ship governs all aspects of Britney’s life. Legally, Britney is a minor. Tour planning would not be possible without the c-ship’s consent and active participation. The world tour is tentatively scheduled to begin in March 2009. In addition, the c-ship acquiesced to Larry Rudolph’s public relations strategy and approved the use of Britney and the boys in magazine features to rehabilitate her image. Furthermore, the c-ship has not adequately acted to circumvent paparazzo access to private moments between Britney and the boys because it is useful to keep Britney in the public eye.

Beneath the overt public relations strategy, there is another story. It is a story of a young mother bonding with her children. In 2009, the world tour will begin and this crucial bonding between mother and children will end. Young children do not conceptualize long periods of time and physical distance away from a parent in the same way as an adult. It undermines a child’s ability to trust and leads to feelings of abandonment. It is the principal reason for attachment disorders.

Britney will not be taking a “private jet back to where her boys are in the blink of eye” 3-4 times a week to maintain a consistent presence in their lives.
