1. Because people are curious about this mentally ill chick.

2. Because people want to see if she can hold it together or if it's going to be THAT particular concert they're at where she freaks out, melts down, or cracks up altogether.

Neither reason would indicate that Britney Spears is a talented superstar and/or force to be reckoned with; it simply indicates that people who pay to see her are just curious creatures who merely consider her a freak show extraordinaire and trainwreck el grande.
