Then when there was a possibility of a career in show business, both parents embraced it because it kept her occupied and gave her at least a small chance of normalcy, and also because it was the only thing she understood how to do. In all other areas, she was hopeless.

It often happens with mentally impaired people - and she is quite seriously handicapped and unstable, she has proven that quite blatantly over the past years - that there is this one talent they have. It may be overrated but it is still something they can do reasonably well, considered their overall impairment.

So this mental illness in not of a newer date and is actually nothing new for her family. But of course, she should have never had kids.
