Ding dang, this is her own fault in that she was given a plea of paying a $150.00 fine but elected to go to trial, what a waste of states' money.

This must be why her handlers all of a sudden decided to publicly announce she was selling her house. Tell me that any self respecting adult would ever want to have all of their affairs completely handled by someone else. She can't even legally subscribe to a newspaper or any other contract, or even enter into a decision without someone going over it and deciding for them. Of course she won't get jail time. She'll probably get fined and get a years probation. She obviously was guilty of driving without a license. The world knows that. She should have taken the plea deal. Instead California taxpayers have to waste their money to pay for this trial.

She works in California, she met her husband-to-be here, got married here, had her two babies here, lived with them in a multimillion house she bought here. She abandoned her boys and husband, walked out and had her "breakdown" here. She shaved her head here. She is still "working" here, or at least she is shopping daily here. She has no attachment to Louisiana, except that her sister lives there, and her mother sometimes.

So her claim to be a resident in Louisiana is ridiculous.

Britney is the one who refused to pay the fine and insisted on going to trial. The judge is likely to throw the book at her for wasting his and the court's time just to get more publicity.

And she will deserve it.

To me what is offensive is the fact that her father is trying to prove that she doesn't live in LA. The fact of the matter is what she's ALWAYS in LA and anyone of the paps can claim that. Not anyone of us ("non celebs") could not have a breakdown like that (ie: acting bizzare, speaking in a different accent to people, shaving head, physically damage someone's car, leave a day after being placed on California's Code 5150) and NOT go to jail for that or be placed in a hospital somewhere. she deserves to do time cause she also opted to go to trial. what does she think she won't go because she's britney spears? well, she's lucky i'm not the juror. cause i would send her ass right to jail.

Oh my God there are some really malicious people on here. This is a ridiculous trial. But the lawyer can bill Britney more money if he goes to trial. So he took her case to trial and for what I will never understand. I lived out in California while working at san Pedro and got pulled over by a California Highway Patrolman one night because of a Texas tag that was valid registered in Texas but back then you could mail them the money and they would mail you the tab to put on your plate if you were working out of state. I was in Bakersfield working on a construction job and had been there over a year. He asked me if I lived there and I told him I owned 7 houses in Texas and I was a Contracts Administrator for the Mercy Southwest Hospital and was also doing work on California State University Bakersfield (CSUB) and he wrote me a warning on the plate because he confirmed it to be valid and a ticket for my out of state license. I was working for Centex so they got their lawyer to go to court for me and the judge threw it out because he said that it was apparent I was there working, I had a valid license and I had valid registration. I am surprised this judge let this thing go to a jury. It should have been thrown out of court long before it ever got this far. No way does this woman deserve jail time for this. The jails are too full as it is and it would be absurd to make her serve time for something as ridiculous as this. She has not killed anyone like Brandy (the singer) did. You people that think Britney is such an awful person might look at yourselves a little closer. No one is perfect and we all tend to do stupid things and make asses of ourselves at times.
