Apparently they've viewed the rough footage of her so called "shoot" and realized it's pretty awful. People were called upon to make their own versions of the video to her singing"True Blue". When the song was released, the video premiered for 24 hours straight on MTV.It seems to me that Britney is borrowing a little from Madonna's publicity seeking playbook. She may indeed have serious serious personal problems, but this is quite simply a woman fighting back against what she perceives as injustice with fierce anger bubbling beneath the service of an extraordinarily sexy electro instrumental track. Rarely has a pop star so effectively answered critics. "Piece of Me" makes Michael Jackson's "Scream" sound like a whimper.

"Piece of Me" isn't the most obviously engaging track on the album when you listen the first time through. However, the atonal slabs of synth propelling the song forward ultimately will stick like glue in your head...as will the firmly articulated lyrics. "I'm Mrs. 'Oh my God that Britney's shameless.' You want a piece of me?" Ouch.

Even with ongoing media fixation on Britney Spears' parental and personal issues, it will be difficult for fans and critics alike to ignore this single. The string of phenomenal singles from "...Baby One More Time" to the most recent "Gimme More" continue to argue for serious consideration of Ms. Spears as one of the top mainstream pop artists of the past decade. The producer of her new video looked and sounded very pleased with the way things went that day. He also looked like the media were idiots for even questioning that it went well and questioning Britney's work in it.

Britney Spears confidante Sam Lutfi has been subpoenaed by Kevin Federline's lawyer and will be questioned in January in the custody case.
A source close to Lutfi says he was served earlier this month for a deposition. "There is nothing to hide," the source says.
Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan confirms the subpoena was served Nov. 7 but that Lutfi "didn't show" for Friday's deposition, which was rescheduled for January.
Kaplan says he will seek a court order to ensure that Lutfi attends the January session.
Three months ago, a dramatic first attempt to serve Lutfi went awry.
The Nov. 7 service, however, had none of that drama.
Lutfi "was in the parking lot of a place in Hollywood," says Kaplan. "My process server asked if he was Sam Lutfi, he said yes. The subpoena was handed to him, but he wouldn't take it. So it was dropped, literally on him. But if someone refuses to take it in their hand and you drop it at their feet, they are served."

Sam is due in court on December 18th for allegedly ramming his Mercedes into the Range Rover of Aaron Cohen. Aaron is the former Israeli commando that was trying to serve Sam with papers forcing him to testify. Sam was apparently trying to get away from being served and crashed into him. UsWeekly reports the L.A. Attorney's office is calling it a "vehicle vandalism incident."

Kaplan, meanwhile, issued a statement denying reports Federline is about to seek more child support:

"Every two months, rumors have been raised in the media that Mr. Federline's lawyers are about to go into court to get more money for child support. Persistent questions are again being raised now in the press about the timing of when that will happen.

"As I've said, I know where to find the courthouse and what to do when I get there. If Mr. Federline had wanted to increase child support, it would be very easy to achieve and would have been requested long before now. There has not been and is not now a request before the court for a modification of child support. Mr. Federline's purpose in bringing this action continues to be one that is based upon the best interest of the children as his highest priority."
