Brit's Attorney Acknowledges He Can't Rep Her

TMZ just received the following statement from Brit's attorney Adam Streisand:

"At the request of Britney Spears, Adam Streisand, a Partner at Loeb & Loeb LLP, met with her yesterday to discuss her legal rights in connection with the conservatorship over her person and estate. Following that meeting, Mr. Streisand learned that the court had issued orders that prevent Ms. Spears from retaining counsel of her own choosing, and on that basis, Mr.Streisand has decided he will not represent her at this time."

"Her legs are actually really skinny," an adolescent whispers into her Sidekick, as Britney beelines for the Betsey Johnson boutique, pseudo-punk designer of evening dresses and splashy heels worn to suburban high school proms. In person, Britney is shockingly beautiful — clear skin, ruby lips, a perfectly proportioned twenty-six-year-old porcelain doll with a nasty weave. She cuts through the crowd swiftly, the way she used to when 20,000 adoring fans mobbed her outside a concert, with her paparazzi boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, trailing behind.

Lutfi's New Publicist Makes No Sense

TMZ just spoke to Sam Lutfi's new publicist (and former Mark Vincent Kaplan media consultant), Michael Sands, and it looks like Sands is a big fan of making little sense.

At one point in the conversation, Sands told TMZ Lutfi doesn't get any money from Britney, and that Howard Grossman is her actual manager. Moments later, he said of Sam, "What's the problem here? Guy trying to make a buck managing Britney Spears, not bad. Smart move!" Perhaps, if you like restraining orders.

Sands also said all drugs Sam fed to Brit were "prescription medication cocktails," and that Lutfi's main goal is to "save Britney Spears' life."

TMZ has confirmed that Sam Lutfi has not been served with the restraining order sought by Brit's parents-- yet.

If he comes in contact with Britney, it technically wouldn't violate the restraining order issued against him -- since he hasn't officially been given notice.

My mom has alzheimer's and Britney reminds me of her before my mom got severe. I would go to her house and she would have on a shirt as pants tied around her waist, her tags were always sticking out and her clothes on backwards. Court documents from previous cohorts of Lutfi present a darker picture.

In October 2005, businesswoman Jumana Issa filed a complaint in Los Angeles against Lutfi; it was dismissed in March 2006 because she failed to appear for a preliminary hearing. When contacted by phone, Issa refused to comment.

In court papers, the Westside Escrow Corporation owner claimed Lutfi started harassing her from the day of closing an escrow account for him after he demanded canceling an escrow check which she said she was unable to stop payment on.

Issa said Lutfi antagonized her repeatedly with obscene e-mails, offensive faxes and late-night voice mails, hanging up on her around 15-20 times a day, according to court documents. Issa described the ordeal as "an overwhelming nightmare."

Lutfi allegedly wrote in one fax provided by Issa, "Come on big lady, I know you are capable of responding. Put down the donuts and call me."

My boyfriend came from an abusive home, and had a mother who was VERY controlling, so he didn't have much of a childhood (probably much like Britney's childhood). He now suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder (he refuses to get diagnosed, but has the symptoms of all three). I suspect Brit suffers from a range of these disorders, too. They are coping mechanisms for dealing with stress. The symptoms will subside when there is no stress present, but will appear more and more strongly as more stress appears.

One of the worst symptoms of these disorders is stubborness - or what is referred to as "counter-will." It's a knee-jerk reaction. My boyfriend (who is 37-years old) will often oppose or defy anything I suggest he do, whether it's in his best interests or not. He does it automatically - I imagine because he grew up with a Mom who constantly told him what to do. In his words, he had "no voice." I suspect this is Brit's problem, too.

The easiest way to deal with this is to play "Jeapordy." If I put everything in the form of a question, it leads my boyfriend to believe that HE is in control (e.g. "It's 11 pm - do YOU think it's time for us to go to bed?") He stops, realizes that it's HIS choice, and that he has the power to make the decision. Brit's parents should try it out - it works wonders!!
