Yes this is much needed. She is like a freakin junkie. There's no schedule in her life. You need a schedule. You get up at a certain time, take a shower, dress, have your coffee, go to the gym if that's on you daily routine, or like me you go to work, come home, make dinner, etc..she just hangs out all night and doesn't sleep, goes to gas stations. i just think that if this is the type of treatment that the court is going to allow then they need to appoint someone to oversea the parents, Britney, and anyone the parents hire. They should all have to provide the courts with detailed weekly reports including medical, financial, and the courts should have independent doctors evaluate Britney throughout the process to see if she is progressing or not. Well please, let me share as a mom of a severe bipolar 26 yr old son. My son has stolen $500 from me with my mini bank card, because of his excessive need to spend money. I have to keep my purse locked in a safe at all times. My son has repeatedly torn up phones, TV's, dvd players, stereos, etc. My son keyed my car down the side as he did to his own truck. My son went through my whole house with a knife down all of my furniture. My son will take off at the drop of a hat and not let us know where he is (out of state at times) and my list could go on and on. My point being, when they are manic, anything goes. You may think what the parents are doing is extreme, but let me tell you as a mom who has "been there, done that" Nothing is extreme when they are out of control like this. What we have seen from Britney in public is probably NOTHING compared to what we don't know. If they get off their meds or the meds stop working for some reason, the whole family better look out. And the real kicker is that the sick person won't remember half of what they did. With the money we have put out on my son to replace things he has done, I could have a new Mercedes sitting in my driveway. This disease is serious. I suport her parents 100%. I agree. I'm very interested in following Brit's story (and hearing from folks like Bi-Polar Mom of 5) because my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years shows many of the symptoms that Britney is showing. However, I don't think he's Bi-Polar...I think he suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder. People who suffer from this have very little sense of "self." They just really don't know who they are, so they are the type of people who will latch on to enablers, cults, gangs, extremist religions, etc. I believe it comes from growing up in an abusive home. Or, in Britney's case, not being able to make choices on her own and and be allowed to "grow" into herself the way that the average kid does. It appears she was probably told her entire life who she was supposed to be - but nobody ever allowed her to be who she REALLY was. Plus, there is a history of mental illness on her father's side. The genetics, plus the environment, may have shaped her into what she is today.

That court appointed legal counsel for Briteny, who is supposed to be "neutral", doesn't appear to be neutral at all. When he saw her in hospital he said she was mentally incapable of hiring a Lawyer, but 2 days later, a Psych Doctor lets her out of the hospital. The Psych Doctor must have considered her mentally competent. Now Briteny can't hire a Lawyer, or make contracts, has been deprived of all her freedoms, probably forever. This shouldn't be allowed in America. It happens to women in Iran, other Arab countries. Personally, I think her parents will keep on getting extensions of the conservatorship, because once they loose it, they're out of her life and money, big time. It's all about the money!!

But the symptoms and downspiral often occure after age of 20.

I think jealous Alli and Sam are in cahoots on this whole scam. I think Alli brought Sam into Brits life. Noone knows the struggles a family faces when dealing with a bi-polar child. I've watched my sister make countless mistakes and noone said anything because they knew if they did, they'd be cut out of her life forever. Noone wanted that. I'm sure her parents have tried to be there. They are only just now realizing that if they don't do something, she will die and it's a sacrifice they are willing to make even if it means they will never see her again.

You made a good point. While no, I don't have videos or pics to show my son. We did save the damage to see how he would react to it. When he got home from the hospital he broke down on his knees apologzing to his dad. Please remember, much of the stuff he damaged was his own, that he bought and paid for, besides out stuff. His dad works two jobs. I've stayed home with him because it was just to hard to work and be at school conferences, dr. appointments, therapists, etc. So yes, I think Britney will have a reaction when she gets better and looks back on this. Those around her will have to enforce that she was sick. I do have to say that this is a life long battle. There is no cure and she can likely relapse again. She needs family and close good friends around her. It's very important. I'm sure this is much harder being in the public eye, but it is a nightmare for families everywhere and Britney is not alone. It's just more noted now, because of her celeb status.

Yes, my boyfriend is an artist. He's very intelligent, and very creative. He can be fine for days, weeks or months, but when stress or conflict arises and "triggers" the illness, everything dissolves into chaos.

Right now Britney's parents are probably following the advice of mental health providers who have instructed them that they need to start eliminating all the "stressors" in her life - beginning with downgrading the intensity of the divorce proceedings, etc. This will probably downgrade her anxiety, which will lesson the symptoms (I don't know about Bi-Polar, but this works with my boyfriend who I think has BPD). They are also probably trying to provide some routine and structure - something solid that she can latch on to while she gets things under control. I don't know...just guessing.

i hope th ey get Britany royalty checks back and he sued to collect damages from him and any other entitiy that associated with him. I would sue those who swarmed her car for invasion of privacy because of the live streams. We need restraining orders. Only ones shgould be around her are fillippe. yes, I think you are right on target. My son is highly creative. He is a very good artist. Mentally ill people are not dumb, as people may believe. Stress is a huge factor and you are probably right they are taking lots of advice from experts.

The sad thing is...Jamie's been through all of this drama with his own mother, who killed herself at 31. As as child, he has seen this through the same eyes as Jayden and his brother...he also probably realizes that if someone doesn't take control, nothing will ever change and no improvement will ever be seen in Britney because, like his mother, Britney will die. I feel bad for this man. You can see the sorrow and the fatigue in his eyes. He's exhausted.

The stress of the paparazzi is making things worse for Britney. They are invading her privacy and I did notice X17 took off that horrible video. This is going way too far, and she will never get better being out in the public eye. I think her parents are right to shield her from all of this, until she can cope on her own.

What everyone here is saying about regression makes sense. I think somewhere in her head Britney is grateful to have the total focus of her Mommy AND her Daddy. Britney wasn't allowed to have a childhood. She was turned into a sex object at age 16 and never looked back. Her parents may not have made good choices looking back, but they are trying to do the right thing right now, and they seem to be paying a high price for it. I just hope its not too little too late.

Brit's mom and dad using their conservator powers to keep a tight reign on Britney, deciding who can and cannot visit her at home and deciding when she can and cannot leave the house and where she can and cannot go and who can and cannot go with her, seems a bit askew of the parental powers they have and did not use (and still do not use) to keep a tight reign on Jamie Lynne. They not only knew but they also allowed their 15 year old daughter Jamie Lynne to shack up with her adult boyfriend. The consequences of that now is an unwed pregnant 16 year old child. A thing like that, willfully allowing a 15 year old girl
child to shack up with an adult, has got to be some sort of felony child abuse or felony child negligence in most courts, and although Jamie and ex-wife Lynne was not criminally charged or convicted for that, how can anyone respect and trust parents who are so neglectful of their minor child and so eager to please their minor child that they are unconcerned about obliging the crime of sex with a minor under the age of consent? Both Britney's and Jamie Lynne's best interests would be better served if some other conservator tended to Britney while mom and dad try to redeem their worth as parents and tend to Jamie Lynne, possibly a conservator who does not have Jamie's other bungling miserable ineptness as well, who defaulted on a mortgage and numerous other financial debts that drove him into bankruptcy in 1998 and then a life of out of control drinking and drug abuse until it landed him in a rehab clinic in 2004.

IMO, there is no question that Britney needs around the clock support and medical attention. I'd much prefer being confined to "her big mansion" for treatment to being locked in a psych ward.
