Britney Spears' big guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother wasn't just a hit - it was the Mother of all hits!
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the pop princess' episode of HIMYM reached record ratings last night, giving the show its highest rating ever!
The show also helped CBS win the evening's rating wars outright, despite hot competition from Dancing With The Stars and The Bachelor.
Congrats to Brit and everyone who works on HIMYM - looks like all your hard work paid off!
First her performance gets great reviews, and now it turns out she drew a huge rating, too - Brit's gotta be loving this news!

Britney Spears celebrated her big TV comeback Monday night with a dinner date with her bodyguard and a female friend in Beverly Hills.
Throughout her meal at Italian restaurant Dominick's, Spears, 26 — who did not drink — spoke in her British accent, a fellow diner tells Usmagazine.com.
"She looked so good, completely normal," the eyewitness adds. "She was smiling and laughing in the loud obnoxious Britney laugh."
The singer had a good reason to rejoice: Her cameo on CBS' Hot I Met Your Mother helped the show earn its highest ratings ever!
(Mother spiked to a series high 4.5 preliminary rating among adults 18-49, according to the Hollywood Reporter.)
Critics also praised her performance.
"She looked beautiful and had screen presence," Charna Halpern, artistic director of Chicago’s Improv Olympic Comedy Club, tells Us. "Even when she was behind the desk and they made her look kind of homely, she was adorable."

And, surprisingly enough, when it aired last night, the show received its highest ratings ever!
Even more surprising, the critics liked it!
The Associated Press stated, "Britney the Trainwreck showed how she can still be Britney the Performer. The 26-year-old pop star, who previously was on a 2006 episode of Will and Grace, appeared fresh-faced and relaxed, capably filling the small role."
The Daily News stated that for "those who hang on every one of Britney's career moves, this bold casting decision worked out. Spears proved she can act every bit as well as she can sing, and with some of the nuances she brought to the character, you'd almost swear she'd been there before."
Could this possibly be the comeback Britney and the rest of the world has been waiting for?

Brit's tv appearance certainly did not prove she has overcome any addictions. It didn't "prove" anything.
And if you think THAT was the basis for the judge to GIVE her custody of her boys, you are SADLY mistaken. She hardly has visitation. And when she does, she still has to have a room full of people watching HER! Matter of fact, her father still has "custody" of her. She can't get custody of her children.
Certainly she seems to be doing better - but I'd say it's mainly due to her father. Actually, it's ALL thanks to her father. (And if his conservatorship ends, will she COTINUE doing better or revert back to "old Britney")? I wouldn't proclaim her "all better" because of last night's quickie tv appearance.
