Go take some college classes and see what jumps out at you. Very few young people know what they want to 'be'. It's HARD. You're not alone. Do you have a community college nearby? Take a few semesters of a variety of classes (some math, biology, geography, history, philosophy, psychology, journalism, geology, drama, music, to name a few). You may not like but one of those classes, or maybe you'll read about something in one of your textbooks that is right up your alley! Don't despair, I'm sure you're still young. Outdoorsy type? What about forestry? What about law enforcement or social worker? Physical education? You don't have to make a hard and fast decision RIGHT NOW. It will come to you. Relax.

Britney Spears' father and a lawyer who claims to represent the pop star traded legal barbs Monday in an intensifying fight over whether James Spears is violating his daughter's civil rights by controlling her finances and life.
Attorney John Eardley, who told The Associated Press he was the "only person who represents Britney Spears," filed documents asserting that Spears is being held by her father in a situation that violates her civil rights.
A lawyer for James Spears said in papers filed Monday that Eardley cannot represent the singer because a probate judge in state court found that Britney Spears "lacks the capacity to hire an attorney, and Mr. Eardley cannot remove the conservatorship proceedings on his own behalf."
The 26-year-old pop star and her estate were placed under a temporary conservatorship after she was taken to UCLA Medical Center on Jan. 31, her second hospitalization in a month. Conservatorships are granted for people deemed unable to care for themselves or their affairs.
Eardley took aim at James Spears in legal documents filed Friday.
"Mr. Spears has now moved into her house and has taken control of her financial assets, as well as her physical custody, all without the benefit of a hearing where Ms. Spears would be present," he said.
Eardley said that Spears has never been on good terms with her father and said he was "concerned for the emotional and physical safety of Britney under these circumstances."
In his motion filed in federal court, Eardley said Spears had "been in a form of private confinement for nearly a month. Certainly, at this point, it is likely that circumstances have changed and it is time that the conservatee be brought into court for a hearing, where the court can evaluate her in person and hear testimony directly from her."
The document suggests she be allowed to retain her own medical professionals to evaluate her condition.
"There are financial issues which involve the possible misappropriation of assets," Eardley said but did not elaborate.
Meanwhile, attorney Jeffrey Wexler, representing James Spears, filed a response Monday complaining that the effort to move the case to federal court is without legal basis and is draining James Spears financially.
Wexler said that the conservator has already incurred more than $42,898 in legal fees to fight the effort launched by Eardley.
Wexler argued the law being cited by Eardley only applies only to cases of racial discrimination.
James Spears has asked to send the matter back to state court and to award him attorneys' fees.
In the phone interview Eardley said he had filed additional documents under seal Monday and expected a hearing to be set soon.

I'm not sure if Jamie got her a new psychiatrist or if she is still seeing the old one. They said her psychiatrist has to be there for the children's visitation, and I read they are trying to get those visits up to 3 times a week. They must be going well.

Ummm...some of the medications she may be on do have the side effect of weight gain. Atypical antipsychotics definitely do that - go look up seroquel and abilify (although the second one is supposedly not as bad). If she's taking one, that could be part of the problem. Exercise would be good for helping to control that. Regardless, some weight gain is better than being completely bonkers! At least IMHO...

Since Mental Health Awareness was brought up, I'll mention this again.

Look on youtube for a BBC documentary entitled "The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive" (another term for Bipolar Disorder). You want PART 5. Go to around 8:27 and watch the last couple of minutes. You will hear something VERY interesting...same goes for the first two or so minutes of Part 6 (a bit of a different symptom but relevant). Not that we really know anything for certain, but these two snippets were quite enlightening. Thought they were worth sharing - hope you agree. :-) By the way, the rest of the documentary is worthwhile too.

Yeah, old Sam was the cause of Britney's downfall. In addition, he was the cause of the sinking of the Titanic, the extinction of the dinosaurs and the Dodo bird, global warming, and was the 2nd man on the grassy knoll at JFK's assassination.

I can't give you an answer on that, maybe someone else can. I can say that some of it is hereditary. If you have a person in your family that has a mental illness, you may be prone to get it. Also, I think stress has a lot to do with depression. So many people are on anit-depressants these days just to cope with the stress of life. There is even a joke about putting prozac in the water. Life is hard.

10:01 Actually, I went and read the original federal court documents in their entirety before I commented. You might consider doing the same. Both the conservatorship's Reply Memorandum and Eardley's Notice of Opposition are on TMZ if you care to read them.

And by the way - that's where I got my information. Not from "some random idiot", as you suggest. There really is a lot in there, and in the initial response by the conservatorship to the Eardley complaint as well (also on TMZ). Try looking at the last half of page 23 of that document, for instance.

After reading those documents I mentioned, I learned a few interesting things I thought I'd pass along (if that works for everyone - I have the time since my son's in bed).

1. On page 23 (bottom half) of the INITIAL conservatorship response to the Eardley complaint filed to federal court, it is noted that had the paperwork been filed a HALF HOUR earlier, the conservatorship would NOT have been able to have been extended and would have expired the next day! (That's why that idiot Sands was going so mental outside the courthouse - he thought it had worked.) Its page 28 of the pdf file if you go look on TMZ.

2. In Eardley's Notice of Opposition (found as Addendum 1 in the Reply Memorandum), you will find that one of Eardley's main complaints is that Britney did not have prior notice of the conservatorship hearing, so that SHE COULD NOT WARN OSAMA LUTFI (yes it really says that!).

Eardley offers a bunch of case law that on the face of it seems to bolster his idea of there being a federal question - until you look at the cases and find out that they involve questions of racial discrimination (huh? how does that apply to Brit?), or to medication management (the conservator was not granted the right to make medical decisions/administer medication involuntarily by the Probate Court).

5. The rest of Eardley's filing is more or less complaining that Britney hasn't been to a hearing in person. However she's been offered the opportunity and has refused - twice.

Basically - Eardley's got nothing with what he's filed thus far. He claims there's more coming but needs more access to Britney first as well as more time.

Bottom Line - makes me wonder why all the desperation.

11:04 - It's a little complicated but the bottom line is that the law Eardley cited for removal to federal court doesn't really do the job - because if it did then Congress wouldn't have had to enact another removal law later specifically for racial discrimination cases (which clearly Britney is excluded from). Sorry if that's not clear but it's the best I can do. :-)

The sad thing is that she won't ever be the old Britney... ever again.
