Why do people keep on making excuses for her? If these type of shots were only a once or a twice-time exception, then I would give her the benefit of the doubt. But over and over and over again, you see her in a photograph where things don't look quite right from a parenting perspective.

And you see lots of other pics of other celebrities with their kids, and they don't get caught in a bad light. And they actually look happy with their kids, as opposed to Britney who always looks glum and disconnected.

I really blame her and her parents equally. She never has bothered to learn how to parent and get counselling and hang around with other mothers with kids, and her parents know she is a moron, and still don't really do anything to make her become a good parent, other than her dad who is now her full-time babysitter.

Why is she running around in a bikini anyway? It seems a little inappropriate unless she was out playing in the sun with her kids, and the way that Sean is dressed, he looks like he has been inside. I don't think it's the worst thing she can do, but please --when you only have your boys for a FEW HOURS a week, can you not put the cigs away and wear clothes? I do not smoke myself, but a cig takes what, about 3 minutes to smoke(?). So a 100 on those days = 300 minutes = 5 STRAIGHT HOURS of constant smoking or so!!!! She may not smoke quite that much now, but no wonder why she smokes around her kids.

I don't believe anyone here is upset because Sean picked up a lighter. It's upsetting that she continued to smoke her cigarette even after she realized that her child was very close to the smoke coming from said cigarette. Not only that, but this is not the first time she's been photographed smoking within close proximity to her children (I'm sure you all remember the photo with the cig about 5 inches from Sean's face).

I also have a child, and yes, I smoke outside. However, he has never seen me smoke, nor would I EVER expose him to second hand smoke. The excuse that "parents do way worse around their kids" is ignorant. Other parents beat, neglect and kill their children, but I think I'll refrain from doing those things as well.

People are making such a big deal and it is ridiculous! Everyone keeps looking at the pic of SP taking the pack but yet no one is looking at the pic of Britney taking them away from him and correcting him.

What's bad is the parenting - it confuses a kid to be told no, yet he sees his mother using it all the time. I doubt he could start anything with that lighter, but still - she should have better judgement than to leave either the pack or lighter laying within reach.

Or better yet - make sure the kids are kept inside while she is out smoking, talking on the phone and tanning.
