Those are direct quotes from a website, but I can almost reel them off word for word without looking them up. And I have no fear of anything after I go horizontal. I have faced death personally many times and have proven that there ARE atheists and agnostics in foxholes. After what I've seen others do in this life, the fact that I have seen babies abused and starved to death makes me very sure of this fact. I was a firefighter for many years and no one will ever be able to explain a master plan to me after the shit that I saw on that job! I've seen HUNDREDS of people dead or dying, including many right in my very hands ( like during CPR). If there is a 'god', then that entity is a sadist! Yes, Taoism can concurrently run with any set of beliefs or non-beliefs. Since it is not a religion, there is no difficulty with this aspect. Zeus lived above the Earth and was the father of all gods. It also made aiming lightning bolts much more convenient.

I must now 'bow out' of this discussion, as thing things in the real world are pressing.
My last thought; believe whatever you wish to believe as long as it does not interfere with the beliefs and non-beliefs of others. When it impinges upon the rights of others, then it is a problem. The freedom of religion includes the freedom from religion as well. I have no fight with those who simply wish to do good for no gain, but I will fight tooth and nail those who wish to spread acts of bad. That would include the forced imposition of religion on others who do not share those same beliefs.

I am intrigued. I enjoy learning about other faiths and beliefs. Any sugestions on a good book about Taoism?
