Very few people say that Britney's album wont happen. What they say is that it won't be as successful as previous efforts. My mother tanned for years in tanning beds and in the sun...3 years ago she was diagnosed with melanoma (an agressive skin cancer), was treated and in remission for about a year, stayed out of the sun unless she used high SPF sunblock and other protective mesures. She relapsed and the cancer was found in her lymph nodes (VERY bad place for it to spread) and she stopped responding to treatment. She passed away 5 months ago from a very painful and preventable cancer. I'm no advocate for anti-tanning or anything, we've lived in Florida our whole lives, but I now protect my skin. I never listened to the whole "UV Rays are dangerous" thing, I thought it was rare, it happened to other people, not me or my family. Now our lives will never be the same. MY life will never be the same, and if I could have one wish granted, it would be that my mom would've known more, that I would've begged her to at LEAST use some kind of sunscreen or to see the doctor or dermatologist for new freckles or moles or spots or ANYTHING, but it was just too late to stop it from spreading when it was caught. I am NOT against tanning at all, just watch for any new or changing spots on your skin, and every so often have your doctor check, they know what to look for. It's as easy as looking at your body in the mirror for changes. One simple act can save a lifetime of heartache and pain for those who love you.

I just hope everyone remembers to stay safe, it's easy to get caught up in wanting to look better and better, but everyone has things they do that makes them feel prettier and if tanning is it, some of you above said you like it, then that's cool. If it makes you feel good about yourself and happy, you should do it! I just wanted to get the message out to be responsible, check your skin frequently if you tan, and make choices that you feel are right for you, not for everyone else. Be practical, use common sense and stay safe as best as you know how. (For the record, I don't dislike either of these girls, I try not to form negative opinions about anyone I have never even met!
