Her parents decided he would be the better conservator because she has difficulty saying no to their daughter. He on the other hand, does not. While under her father’s care, she managed to hide the pre-paid cell phone and contact a predator. Just imagine what she could hide from her mother. Or manipulate her mother into allowing if she were the conservator.

To 3:08 on the MPD stuff, could be that. Since there really isn't any clear cut, by the mold set of conditions that people can be cleanly put into, could be anything. Comorbidity also throws a wrench into the works, as most disorders can be a combination of many things. Unless she or her family decide to tell the public about her medical problems, all any of us can do is speculate. I dropped the HPD down. Yeah, we've probably all seen that and more on here. As I said before, comorbidity is very often the case. People can often jump from one set of problems to another. Like my friend who said he was suffering from some minor depression and went for help. Despite some fairly smart docs, he said the meds they gave him made him very suicidal and paranoid. The change of meds got it under control, but it freaked him out that it made him feel MUCH worse for a while! This is fairly common with many people. He got his clue when he realized that he just needed to get out of his situation and just suck it up. He seems to be doing well now!

If you ever have time, maybe you could explain comorbidity in detail to some of the readers who don’t seem to understand self-absorption, substance abuse and mental disorders (plural) are not necessary mutually exclusive. By the way, I have sharp elbows too. I prefer to keep them at my side unless someone gives me a reason to change my mind. ;)

Seriously, I was climbing in a mesquite tree (trimming branches) and I poked my right eye on a thorn. I lost at least half of the vitreous fluid in my eye and it sorta caved in. All I could see was light and dark. Thought I was blind for good in that eye! My parents were at the cabin, 2 hours away and my cousin rushed me to the hospital on his bike! Major brick shittage! About 4 hours later, when they were literally ready to wheel me into the OR, they took one last check and I could see some shapes again. The doc thought I was lying, but I wasn't. The puncture sealed and the fluid refilled. In a week, my vision was almost 20/20 again and perfect in a month! All I can say is I know how lucky I was! But seeing your eye deflated like that was beyond trippy! Now, my only problem is it caused my eye to become photophobic, eventually affecting both eyes! I cringe like a vampire in sunlight, but damn if I don't have a rad selection of sunglasses now! True story!

In my opinion the red flags (as defined by Westmiller, a lawyer) are not applicable. The conservator of her person is a parent not a ‘stranger’. She not been isolated and is able to communicate with her family and friends. Neither she, her mother, siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, nor friends have petitioned the court to question the need for the conservatorship. Nor have they challenged the way in which the conservator has managed her life.

The co-conservators of her estate are a parent and court-appointed lawyer. The co-conservators are required to obtain approval from the court prior to substantial transactions such as selling/purchasing a home, selling her cars, hiring additional legal counsel for ongoing litigation etcetera. The majority of her wealth is not managed by the co-conservators; it is managed by the SJB Revocable Trust. In 2004, she designated her brother and a lawyer as co-trustees and tasked them with managing the trust in the event she was incapacitated. The co-trustees began managing the trust after the court declared her medically incapacitated. Neither she, her mother, siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, nor friends have petitioned the court to challenge who was designated as the co-conservators of her estate, how they have managed her assets or the expertise of the court-appointed co-conservator.

She has a court-appointed doctor and a court-appointed lawyer who report to the court. Neither she, her mother, siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, nor friends have petitioned the court to question the expertise of the court-appointed doctor or lawyer.

She did not contest the permanent conservatorship. It is subject to periodic review by a court-appointed investigator who will make recommendations to the court.
