I don't think Britney is a "bad" parent. I think she probably loves those children very much but was never taught parenting skills. When the word abused is used it can mean different things to different people. I highly doubt she has physically abused her children. Some, well many, would say neglectful, but not physically abusive.

It is interesting that we hear about Child Protective Services being all over this, but there are many children out there that are actually physically & mentally abused. I agree that they should look into the matter as all cases should be but they make it sound like she is beating her kids.

My friend was having an affair with a co-worker. She told me that she had placed a taping device on her home phone. I guess she was trying to get something on her husband, anticipating the divorce. And he let Britneys' parents watch the kids, cause he knows they already have issues and this would cause more problems. He may be a moocher, but he has been damn good at manipulating her actions!
