The doctors who snooped only get disciplinary action...shouldn't they be fired too? If no one has leaked anything, what is the big deal? Firing them seems kind of like an overreaction to the issue.I can certainly see disciplinary actions being taken, but not firing.

what's the medical world coming to when you fire so many medical personal. Britney Spears and so many other celebs have the golden opportunity to go to any medical facility in the world. Don't fire our wonderful professionals that we need. yes, they may have been wrong, but these people worked harder to get their degree than any freakin celebrity. They save lives, not get high and pretend to be an actress or actor. Britney, I strongley urge you to defend these people that have fought so hard to save you. I'm horrified that anyone would legitimize looking into the personal medical files of another, out of curiosity or for gossip.

I can't imagine my mother, an RN, the nurses I've been taken care for surgery, or the doctors I have had, crossing the line.

I have seen horrible things however in the med community. I don't know why 5:25 you would make a blanket statement.

It is about getting some controls changed within the site, that would eliminate the filthy name calling and basically seeing the Terms of Use upheld. Furthermore, having our complaints and concerns taken seriously by the site.

Well, my comment with regards to these matter, the deserved it! It doesn't mean that if you're hospitalized even an ordinary person they must provide privacy coz it's confidential especially to the case of Miss Spears they should respect also not just by looking in her background but as their client. It's their JOb and they must know that! They're just showing their true color; Are they not been conducted with a seminar with regards to the laws and policies subjected in the agency or something? Especially the DOCTORS. So UNPROFESSIONAL!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!

It is a federal law under HIPAA Privacy and Security. The hospital has no choice but to fire the workers. Would be the same for you and I if our records were accessed. I do this for a living. I have to fire people daily because of breach of confidentiality under HIPAA. Whether they are disciplined or fired has to do with what they did with her information. If they gained financially by accessing her info, there will be criminal penalities. If it can be proven that this website or any other payed for this breach, they can be rposecuted as well. This is a serious issue.

OK I agree these people did go to school AND they do save lives, however, doctors and lawyers have one main thing to uphold and its called "ethics". They take these ethics courses in their education. It's part of being a doctor.

It is outrageous that the employees of UCLA didn't have anything better to do than snoop through patient records that they have no business being in. The tabloids should not get away with printing this confidential info. They should be investigated and severely fined for printing info that is suppose to be protected as confidential. The reporter that wrote the story and the editor that allowed it to be printed should be fired. I find it disgusting that the paparazzi have stepped so far over the line to attain info on stars and then print it for everyone's so called entertainment. They've really reached an all time low when they publish leaked info about a cancer stricken star and another star that is desperately in need of mental help. All involved should be ashamed.
