f I somehow found myself in a similar situation of losing my children, I would have made it priority #1 to do anything and everything possible to get my children back! I would have thrown myself on the mercy of the court and jumped through whatever hoop was presented before me. I would have got to rehab, sought out whatever mental help was suggested, gone to parenting classes, stopped whatever personal business was going on and focused on the matter at hand. I would not have been seen out partying, clubbing, wandering around, and anything else of that nature. I would have dressed appropriately for court and shown up for each and every session held concerning the matter. I would make no videos, tour plans, or whatever else until this was done. My priority would have been to place all of myself and my resources I have into the fight. If my kids were even sick, I would drop what I was doing to focus on them, let alone losing them. But what do we get from the Spears camp? Nothing of the sort. Only more talks about career matters that take second place to what is important. If she had made even the least bit of effort to do any of these things, I would actually have some sympathy for her, but since she did the exact opposite, no sympathy will be given by me. If concern over the moral and ethical decline of society concerns me more than the latest single of mass marketed, machined schmaltz makes me old fashioned so be it. If I am listed as a hater by many of you, I wear this badge with pride. But I am not a hater, only someone who strongly disagrees with the course taken by someone who obviously places themselves in front of their family. I think the last conversation I had with you I asked you what you thought of "4 Minutes" and we discussed the Confessions tour...and in the thread before your "rant" I was saying that I hoped they re-released Blackout for summer with some new tracks (including a ballad like "Everytime") because I'm a big fan of the album. So I wasn't really sure how my name got in there! I think I'm one of the only folks who has stuck with my moniker over the past couple of months, so I get blamed for a lot of stuff!! lol
I DO see where you're coming from with the "desensitized" stuff, though. I think a lot of the time we forget that Brit (along with all the rest of the posters here) are actually real people.
I live near an Indian Reserve here in Canada, and my last boyfriend was Ojibway, so I've seen what it's like for people to have a rough go at life. There is a lot of alcoholism and drug abuse on Reserves (through no fault of the people...it's a systematic problem that has developed through centuries of abuse at the hands of the government, IMO) and with that comes a lot of child abuse, which leads to a lot of mental illness. It's a horrible cycle, and is heartbreaking to watch. So I DO understand what it must be like for Britney's family to watch what has happened to her.
There's been a lot of imp'ing going on here lately, a lot of in-fighting between posters, and a lot of insensitive comments. I've gotten upset a number of times and sworn I'd never come back...but I always end up here the next day anyways...because tucked within the insensitive comments, there's always some thoughtful comments and some humour to be found. And I've also been guilty of posting a few bad jokes and a few mean things, too, because it's pretty easy to type something while hiding behind the anonimity of your computer. (In fact, looking back, the day that I posted JGlad's supposed last name was the same day that I broke up with my boyfriend! So I think all the mean things people say here may come out when they're going through rough times themselves.)

I have a problem with her actions and I am not some young teeny bopper. If I were in her position, I would put everything else on hold until the matter with the children is straightened out. You have your opinion and I have mine. In my opinion, she has not been in control of herself and has made priorities of what is less important. Excuses and blame are only distractions to what is important. You can play the blame of others all you want, but at the end of the day, she lost her kids. Someone with real power and intelligence would not have let that happen. If it took every penny she has left to get them back, that would be money well spent. If she was so concerned about all this, she could have screamed bloody murder about losing her kids to the very press that was ever present. There is simply no excuse for not making this a priority. They have to put this person through testing and other things in order to prove or disprove the case. This started and they found nothing. Then Britney has a breakdown and that lead to more questions on her behalf. And all the while she has been paying attorneys to fight for her kids, did you forget that point? She has NOT for the last time LOST HER KIDS, she is on monitored visitation and the last one wasn't even monitored, so things are starting to go backwards. She is the one the accusations were called on, so she has to prove them wrong at a huge cost. It could happen to you , me or anyone. People make comments on this board which are so out of line, and accuse people of things that are not happening in their lives, it happened to me, and the person was full of crap, nothing they said was even remotely close to my life.
