A deposition isn't taken in court before a judge. The deposition is taken by the attorney, in this case Kaplan, Federline's attorney, in his office probably. It is an information-seeking exercise. He gets to grill her as long as he wants to, apparently without her lawyers present, which I find objectionable. Anybody would be nervous going into the lion's den under these circumstances.
