You are without a clue. You seem to have absolutely no idea of the trouble Britney is in, because of her illness and her erratic and dangerous lifestyle.

This has got to be one of the most difficult situations a family can find itself in - an adult daughter who has plenty of her own money, who doesn't care if she cuts herself off from her family completely, whose mental illness causes her to engage in self-destructive behavior. There's not much of anything a family can do to help until the person hits the absolute bottom. Then, through legal means, a family can take some steps to at least provide avenues for solutions.

Britney has legal representation. In fact, a neutral court-appointed representative like Wallet and others will do more for her benefit than her own hired team, which seems to have some agenda that is not to her benefit.

Clueless above, you just really don't have one drop of information about how sick this woman is right now. You cannot cure mental illness with love. It's been tried and results only in failure. The scenario you describe is fine if everyone is mentally healthy, but for mental illness, other measures must take place. You can love away a burst appendix and you can't love away mental illness.

It took two years of intense therapy but they are out of my system. I write this because I KNOW EXACTLY what is goin on. If my family members want to get off their drugs and do intensive therapy they are welcome to begin a healthy relationship with me.

As far as I know, mental illness is 50% nature and 50% nuture. You can be born genetically predisposed to a mental illness, but if you grow up in a stable environment you can still turn out okay. And likewise, you can be born perfectly fine and be raised in an abusive home, and develop a mental illness over time.

From what I've read, Brit's family has a history of mental illness on her father's side. So she's already predisposed. Plus, she's been raised in an environment where she's had very little control over her own life. To repeat what the monitor said about Brit's own treatment of her boys, her own childhood was likely "not abusive in a traditional sense," but also "ranged from chaotic to sombre."

We don't know right now if her parent's are also going to participate in family therapy with her, but judging from their actions so far, it seems they are willing to go the distance. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

It's not that easy to get someone committed and a conservatorship established. It takes time and unfortunately they had to wait for things to play out so that they could do what needed to be done.

When I was in the hosptal if my Dad (who people thought was so awesome ) had tried to take control of my belongings I would have freaked out. I would NOT have stayed in the hospita and got the help I needed (minus meds)... so I think it is very damaging to someone's ability to get well if someone they distrust is in control of their estate and controlling who they can talk to and STOPPING THEM FROM GETTING A LAWYER to represent them in court. I was wondering why Streisand only spoke with her on the phone... and then I realized because her Dad said he could not go see her!

There are some mental illnesses that are entirely chemical/biological, and manic-depression (bipolar) is one of them. No amount of love and nurturing can prevent it.

While the cure should consist of some counseling on dealing with life and self, and instruction on how to take care of oneself, the key is medication which gets the brain chemicals in proper proportion, and I believe some trial-and-error goes into finding the correct balance. Patient cooperation is fundamental and difficult to attain.

Poor parenting does not bring on this type of mental illness. Schizophrenia is another brain chemical based illness. Parenting is not the issue. We should thank modern science that discoveries have been made which can help these victims of out-of-balance brain chemistry.

I don't see this as a warm family. Britney would never have gotten this far gone if this family was warm and proved to Britney that they loved her and wanted what was best for her. How did they fall so out of love within such a close family. Who cares about OSAMA..stop blaming him and worry about her. I'm, not against Britney being hospitalized or getting treatment. I just am very concerned about the heavy-handed way that it has come about. This situation is, obviously, very unique because of its high profile and the amount of money at stake.

The relationship between Britney and her family is also unique. It's an absolute fact that she has been her family's meal ticket -- with respect to money, as well as the attention that they all obviously crave. It's also an absolute fact that her relationship with her family has been turbulent.

This makes her family (in this case) unable to be the the impartial guardians of Britney -- and her individual soul.

11:47 I totally disagree with you. It is poor parenting when you don't teach you children skills on how to effectively cope with life. My parents taught me bizarre ways of coping. The chemical imbalances are brought on by the major stresses of growing up in a dysfunctional family. The root cause of chemical imbalance is stress brought on by not having a mindset that gives you a positive and healthy outlook on life. This causes mjor stress on the body and brain functons because of not knowing how to deal with life in an effective and positive way. While meds work to restore the chemical imbalance ... the stresses are still there... that is why meds stop working and they have to up dosages or switch to a different chemical... because the mindset and behaviours and major stresses on the body are still there if you don't learn to cope with life in a healthy way.

Like I said I am living proof. I was Britney's age when I was dignosed as bi-polar and borderline schizophrenic. I was given major meds that made me a zombie. Then I got a great therapist...I was re-parented.. I learned fantastic skills. I have not taken any kind of medication for 6 years now and I live a fully functioning super happy life. My parents are still major wacko's who look all normal on the outside. My sister was also diagnosed bi-polar and is now getting off meds and into intensive therapy. My body and brain are not stressed because I have awesome skills to cope and a positive mindset... so I am not stressing my body and brain... my brain chemicals are totally normal on their own!

They take away her kids = The Courts. (She was driving erratically with them in the car. She held Jayden hostage for three hours. She was becoming a danger to them.)
they occupied her house = Sam. (Her parents have now changed the locks so he can't rummage through her private belongings and hang out in her mansion day and night.)
they take away her money = Nobody. (Nobody has taken her money away. The Courts have appointed her father and one of her previous lawyers to watch the money until she gets better.
her cars = Nobody. (Her cars are still parked in her driveway. She can drive them when she gets better.)
they take away her mind and freedom = Her mental illness. (It stole her mind. When she gets better, she will get her freedom back, too.)

- Possibly, Brit hates her parents because they tried to get her help when she wasn't ready to accept it. Due to mental illness/diva syndrome, she doesn't like hearing the word, "No."
- Possibly, she married Federline because she confused lust for love. She has poor impulse control. She was looking for somebody to love her, and at the time he fit the bill.
- Possibly, the "virginal Britney" that was marketed to the public was merely "branding." Brit was a "brand name" in the pop world in the same way that Nike and Reebok are brand names in the shoe world. Jive and her management rode it out as long as they could because it made them lots of money. Unfortunately for Brit, it wasn't who she really was and it made her loose her mind.

Not too long ago the attorney's she had wanted out and they weren't the only lawyers she had that said she was impossible to work with. It was Shitney that wouldn't make it to court or wake up late. She kept messing everything up because she wasn't mentally stable.
No one could deal with her. Even when she finally went in the hospital Sam and Britney had stopped the car and she was yelling at him from the top of her lungs. She had temper tantrums with everyone and I'm not saying it's all her fault but she did have a lot of arguements. She wasn't that easy to deal with or be friends with. Maybe the doctor can help her now. She needs so much therapy.

I wanted to add.. the reason science believed mental illness is hereditary is because it does keep showing up. They key thing to realize is...that is because the family keeps teaching BAD ways of coping with life that stress the body and brain. It is hereditary because they keep doing the same bad things..

One explanation that I've come across (at least in the case of ADD) is that mental illness can be passed from mother to infant due to behaviour. Infants whose mother's suffer from depression (or a mental illness of some sort) will contantly avert their case to "get away" from the mother's depression (the stress/sadness in her eyes). So, as the infant grows into a child, then an adult, the person's brain will continue to operate in that way. Their mind will contantly "switch" when faced with stress. They become unable to cope with stress in the same way that "normal" people do, because their brain has now been wired to "get away" from it.

So, yes, you're right...the same things that can cause mental illness (avoidance of stress) are the same things that can ease the symptoms.

Really, learning how to properly deal with stress and living a balanced life is the key.

I hope those GPS tracking devices are only for the purpose of protecting the vehicles from theft while Britney is incapacitated. Everyone including x17 need to realize one thing, Britney is one sick little girl. That means that everyone is doing the right thing for her including her parents. No court is going to grant her parents with what they did if they thought that they were going to take her for what she was worth. Britney Spears's mother accused Sam Lutfi of drugging the singer and verbally abusing her, according to a request for a temporary restraining order against Lutfi.

The request, which was granted, also gives a detailed description of the chaotic scene at Spears's house when her mother arrived Jan. 28 for an intervention, with Spears bizarrely talking like a "very young girl" and changing her clothes and her dogs' clothes "many times."

The restraining order, which forbids Lutfi from getting within 250 yards of Spears, her homes, her family's homes and the hospital where she's staying, alleges: "Mr. Lutfi has drugged Britney. He has cut Britney's home phone line and removed her cell phone chargers. He claims to control everything."


Lynne Spears's Allegations
In a six-page declaration, Lynne Spears says that when she and her friend Jackie arrived at her daughter's house, Lutfi – a constant companion of Britney – revealed he was giving her drugs.

"Sam told Jackie and me that he grinds up Britney's pills, which were on the counter and included Risperdol and Seroquel," Lynne says.

[There appears to be no medication called Risperdol. Risperol is a sleeping medication, and Risperdal is an anti-pyschotic drug. Seroquel is prescribed to treat bipolar disorder.]

"He told us that he puts them in her food and that was the reason she had been quiet for the last three days," Lynne continues. "She had been sleeping. He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could give her drugs to heal her brain."

Lutfi also demanded that Lynne do what he ordered, according to Lynne.

"I'm the one who spends 24/7 with your daughter," Lynne quoted him as saying. "I sleep in cars outside her house so she can't leave." He then allegedly told Lynne: "You people throw everyone under the bus. If you don't listen to me I'm going to make your name s--- in the papers."

Lynne added that Lutfi "told me that if he weren't in the house to give Britney her medicine, she would kill herself. Then he said to me, 'If you try to get rid of me, she'll be dead and I'll piss on her grave."


Sam's Argument with Britney
Lynne claims that Britney and Lutfi had an argument earlier in the evening.

"Sam had told Britney that she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a whore, that she cares more about [paparazzo] Adnan [Ghalib], her current boyfriend, than she cares about her kids, and that she does not deserve the kids."

Lynne says her daughter was acting strangely.

"Britney ... became very agitated and could not stop moving," says Lynne. "She cleaned the house. She changed her clothes many times. She also changed her three dogs' clothes many times. Britney spoke to me in a tone and with the level of understanding of a very young girl. Britney then picked up a bottle of pills and read part of the label and asked us, 'What does insomnia mean?' Sam told her the pills will help her stay awake."

Three days after the scene at the house, Spears was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center's psych ward and is under a 14-day forced hold. Her father Jamie Spears and a lawyer have been granted temporary control of her affairs.
