Brittany Murphy's father, Angelo Bertolotti, is suing the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office because he claims her autopsy was "never fully investigated.”

Bertolotti, who is also suing the Los Angeles Police Department, has requested samples of his daughter’s hair for his own testing. “I’m not going to rest until my daughter’s untimely demise is properly investigated, which hasn’t happened so far. Her case deserves more than a superficial glance,” Bertolotti said in a press release.

In 2009 the coroner’s office ruled that the 32-year-old actress died of pneumonia, anemia and prescription drug intoxication, but Bertolotti believes toxic mold in her Hollywood Hills home could have caused her death, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack, who died just five months after his movie-star wife, passed away from pneumonia and severe anemia, says an LA County coroner spokesperson.

Ironically, Simon passed away in the same house as his deceased wife, and like Brittany, was found by Murphy's mother Sharon. Some prescription drugs were also found in his system, but not enough to be lethal, according to CNN.

Brittany Murphy's cause of death was due to a combination of pneumonia, an iron deficiency and multiple drug intoxication.

Simon Monjack will be laid to rest today at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills next to his wife, Brittany Murphy. Monjack, a screenwriter, was found dead in his home this past Sunday ... the very same house where his wife died six months ago. He also shared the home with Brittany's mom, Sharon.

On Tuesday, an autopsy was performed on Monjack, but the coroner's office says that it will be weeks before the actual cause of death is determined.

According to Monjack's rep, he suffered from a heart condition. The private service at Forest Lawn will take place at 3pm.

Brittany Murphy's husband was apparently due for a heart bypass before his sudden death last night, but kept putting the surgery off.

"I was told he needed a bypass," Roger Neal, a spokesperson for Simon, Sharon and the Brittany Murphy Foundation said. "I said to him, 'Simon, you have so much going on, let's keep you healthy.' I said, 'You want to be healthy. Don't you?' He said yes, but he said, 'The bypass can wait.'"

Simon was found unconscious by Murpy's mother Sharon in the Hollywood Hills home he shared with Brittany last night around 9pm after he suffered an apparent cardiac arrest and called the paramedics, who pronounced him dead after being unable to resuscitate him. Ironically, it was also Sharon who discovered her daughter unconscious in the same home just five months ago.

L.A. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said "We're not sure if it is natural causes or a possible accident, maybe because of the prescription medication found there."

Official cause of death is still yet to be determined.

Brittany Murphy's widow, Simon Monjack, was found dead last night in the Hollywood Hills home he shared with his late wife and her mother.

In fact it was Sharon Murphy who found her daughter dead in the couple's shower, in the same home, just five months ago and it was Sharon who discovered Simon's body last night around 9:30 PM in the master bedroom.

Murphy called 911 and Monjack was pronounced dead after paramedics performed CPR but were unable to resuscitate him. Reports say cardiac arrest was the cause of death.

Police tell X17 there is no evidence of foul play and there will not be an investigation into Monjack's death. His body is at the coroner's office for an autopsy.

Simon Monjack has fervently denied rumors that after the death of his young wife, Brittany Murphy, he not only shares a home with her mom Sharon, but he's sharing a bed as well!

Monjack recently told Access Hollywood, "We don't have sex, number one. Number two, she is a woman that has toxic neuropathy, which means she can barely walk." And thirdly, "I live downstairs, she lives upstairs."

Ok, we really want to believe that Monjack is telling the truth, because the alternative would be too creepy, but why would a woman with "toxic neuropathy" who can "barely walk" live on the top floor of a house? Wouldn't she want to be on the first floor so she doesn't have to deal with steps? Also, his denial is that they "don't have sex." Not that they're not involved. Was that just the way he phrased it or is he covering up for something?

Hmmm...

Sharon Murphy has put the West Hollywood home where Brittany Murphy passed away up for sale.

The 5 bed, 5 bath, 8,000 square foot home is listed for a whopping 7.25 million, which is nearly double what Brittany paid for it when she purchased it from Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake in 2003 for $3,850,038.

Since Brittany left everything to her mother Sharon and not her husband, no proceeds from the sale will go to Simon Monjack.

We already knew that drugs were present in Brittany Murphy's system the day she died, and now the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has released a report listing the exact medications, all of which appear to be over the counter medications.

A spokeperson from the Coroner's office released this information to the press:

"Multiple medications were present in the blood, with elevated levels of hydrocodone, acetaminophen, and chlorpheniramine. L-methamphetamine was also present ... It should be noted that the pattern of use of these medications suggest treatment of symptoms of a cold or other respiratory infection. Acetaminophen and hydrocodone are components of Vicodin. Chlorpheniramine is the active ingredient in some over-the-counter medications. L-methamphetamine is a component of some inhalers."

Murphy died on December 20 after collapsing at her Hollywood Hills home, and the Coroner's office previously determined that the cause of death was pneumonia with prescription drug intoxication as a secondary factor.
