Carey Mulligan is reportedly engaged to Marcus Mumford (the Mumford in Grammy-nominated band Mumford & Sons) after only five months of dating.
The couple was first spotted together in February. According to The Sun, Mumford, 24, popped the question to Mulligan, 26, during the couple's weekend stay in Somerset, England.
Though Mumford and his band sing American-inspired folk music, he is British (as is Mulligan.) The group gained popularity as part of the recent folk movement in West London.
Sparks flew between the two when Mumford invited Mulligan to one of his Nashville concerts earlier this year. Mulligan then spent time with the band on their 2011 U.S. Railroad Revival tour (for which they traveled in a vintage train as opposed to a tour bus -- edgy.)
Oscar-nominated Mulligan split from Shia LaBeouf, 24, her boyfriend of more than a year, in October (left). She was then linked to several actors, including Tom Sturridge. Mumford also broke up from a long-time love, singer Laura Marling, earlier this year.
What do you think -- if these two are engaged, will they make it, or is this just a rebound romance?
LaBeouf commented on his relationship with Mulligan in a recent Playboy interview. See what he said after the jump.
In an interview with Playboy released at the end of June (the same interview in which he revealed that he and Megan Fox had hooked up), LaBeouf said of Mulligan, his Wall Street 2 co-star:
- "I still love her. I think she’s a fu**ing awesome person and an incredible actress. We’re still pals. I wouldn’t take any of it back, and I don’t think she would either. It just ran its course."
No word on Shia's reaction to the news of his "love"'s engagement ...
