Charlie Sheen Doesn't Submit Himself For Emmy Consideration
Posted on Tue Jun 7, 2011 08:40 AM PDT
Charlie Sheen is not eligible for an Emmy for Two and a Half Men this year because he failed to submit himself for consideration on time.
It's up to the individual actor to submit themselves for consideration, but Sheen blew several deadlines. First, he was supposed to submit by April 29. When he didn't, the academy gave him a special break.
Then, the actor missed the bottom line deadline -- May 25, which is the date by which all other entrants were already proofreading their final entries in case they won!
Men co-stars Jon Cryer, Angus T. Young, Holland Taylor, guest star Jane Lynch and others submitted themselves. But Warner Bros., which fired Sheen in April and has since replaced him with Ashton Kutcher, did not submit the show itself.
Sheen is a four-time Emmy nominee for his role on the sitcom, but has never won -- and it looks like he never will!
Why do you think Charlie didn't submit himself? It seems arrogant to us that he blew all those special deadlines!!
Charlie hasn't been spotted out much since the Ashton Kutcher announcement.
The Emmys will air Sept. 18 on Fox. They're hosted this year by Jane Lynch.
