I’m not interested in having a philosophical discussion about why judges allow substance abusers to use a 3.5 ton weapon to destroy families. Following the destruction of my family, I entered my freshman year of college on a full academic scholarship. I was 17. If it had not been for my then boyfriend-now husband and my closest friend I would have imploded from grief. My grandfather was inconsolable and his health rapidly declined. There is no question in my mind the death of my parents and sister shortened his life. Suffice it to say, everything has a ripple effect. With regard to celebrities, my only interest is dissuading others from emulating their dangerous behavior.
