The time extention is to allow his lawyr to view and test the evidence. He might offer to plea to lesser charges and offer sentencing options.

If it works then the charges would be changed and when pressed he would plead no contest or guilty.

My guess is some house jail time, some community service, some physco babble, a fine and probation.

As a violent male prisoner he will have to do about half of any real jail time he gets and if the judge decides to he can be sent to prison. Not likely for a first offender.

What it all really comes down to is the DA's opinion of the strenth of each charge. I would be suprised if he does not have to plead to a single charge but a felony.

Since the plea bargain has not yet been worked out, they asked for a continuance to avoid making a not guilty plea yesterday, since they know that sensationalist, judgemental pricks in the media and tabloids would blow that out of proportion. Standard procedure in many court proceedings. Nothing to see here, folks...
