As the countdown to Sunday's VMAs intensifies, it looks like old frenemies Britney and Christina are gearing up for another of many friendly showdowns in their long careers.

1993 - 1995: Britney and Christina star together on the Mickey Mouse Club.

1999: Britney and Christina release their debut albums.

2003: Britney and Christina share the stage at the VMAs for the first time together since the Mickey Mouse Club, and share a kiss with Madonna!

Sept. 7th, 2008: Who will make the bigger VMA splash, three-time nominee Britney, who will open the VMAs (and maybe more!), or Xtina, who will be there on hand to promote her new album and song?

Christina Aguilera just dropped a new track from her upcoming greatest hits album titled, "Keeps Gettin' Better," and we loooove it! She's even supposed to perform the new song this Sunday at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

The singer announced yesterday that she would be releasing "Keeps Gettin' Better - A Decade Of Hits" exclusively at the major retailer. The record will feature two new songs and re-recorded versions of her smash hits "Genie In A Bottle" and "Beautiful". Xtina joins Carrie Underwood, Alicia Keyes, and John Legend as artists to sell a record exclusively through Target.

Christina seems pumped about the prospect of cutting a greatest-hits disc, too "I can't believe it's been over 10 years since my first album," she said in a statement given to the AP yesterday, "and it was really exciting to put all of my favorite songs in one collection for my fans."

"Keeps Gettin' Better" is set to hit stores November 11th. Sounds like we've got another album to look forward to this fall!

Christina Aguilera might be showing her body off a lot these days - unless her son Max is around, that is! We caught the Dirrty mommy dressed remarkably conservatively as she left the SoHo Grand Hotel with her infant son Max yesterday afternoon. 'Course, Xtina doesn't need to throw her girls in everyone's face in order to look fashionable - heck, she even made sure to wear the same shade of yellow sweater as Max' jumper!

Christina was out with her hubby in NYC last night and it sure looks like motherhood does a body good! Though she wore an all black ensemble, she looked anything but boring, and her trademark platinum locks were flawless. A-plus for Xtina!

Guess she's DEFINITELY lost any and all baby weight!

Xtina looked uncharacteristically unhappy in Hollywood last night. But why?

Xtina took the mic at the launch party for the Trump Tower Dubai over the weekend.

The party, held in Los Angeles, gave Mama Aguilera the chance to work it out on the stage!

I don't know what designer she's wearing, but doesn't that ruffle on the bottom totally look like something Project Runway's Christian Siriano would design? FIERCE!

Last night, the Dirrty duo hit up the Roxy to check out Bigelf, a hard-rockin' band in the vein of Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd. Doesn't really seem like Xtina's scene, does it? Don't forget - Jordan's a big-time music marketer who's always on the lookout for the next hot act. Could he be looking into signing Bigelf? We wouldn't be surprised!

Happily, Christina decided to accompany her man to the club - and even got all dolled up for the occasion! Doesn't she look great? She must have been the cutest chick in the mosh pit!

Christina Aguilera made another covert visit to the studio last night to work on her upcoming album. Why all the secrecy, Christina? We're sure your fans would be thrilled to hear that you're working on something new!

Meanwhile, Xtina's still hard at work on her follow-up to Back to Basics; just last night, we caught her swinging by the studio for a little late-night work. We can't wait to hear what she comes up with!

Proud parents of baby Max, Xtina and Jordy left the little tyke at home to enjoy a night out on the town.

We thought Hyde was kind of dunzo, but the Aguileras weren't the only celebs we spotted there that night!

Pop star Justin Timberlake visited the Raffles L'Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills last night at the same time that new mom Christina Aguilera was there as well! Not 100% sure they were there "together," but we know of one person that was definitely NOT in attendance... Xtina's hubby Jordan!

Hmm, but if this indeed was a MMC reunion, where was Britney?!?
