Christina Aguilera On Her Divorce: Things Were "So Unhealthy And Unhappy"

Christina Aguilera is finally speaking out about her highly-publicized split with husband of five years, Jordan Bratman.

The 29-year-old Burlesque star tells People:

"Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it. I really didn't want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up."

Xtina met her current beau Matthew Rutler while he was working as a set assistant on Burlesque. In regards to her new relationship, she adds:

"He's the kind of person you could spend hours with on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight."

As for how her split with Bratman has affected their son, Max ... Aguilera tells the mag:

"When you're unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer. That's the last thing I wanted for my son."

Sounds like Xtina is moving on to bigger and better things.
