Breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate gave birth to baby girl Sadie Grace on January 27, and since then, mommy life has definitely changed the actress for the better.
The Married With Children star resides in L.A. with musician fiancé Martyn LeNoble, a Dutch bassist and founding member of Porno for Pyros, and they are over the moon with their new little bundle of joy.
The Hall Pass star opened up to PEOPLE, revealing:
- "She's healed me in so many ways. She's just made my life so much better. She's opened my whole soul. I felt my heart literally open up for the first time and like wrap itself around her. It was profound. And I'm more in love with her every minute of the day."
Considering Applegate opted for a double mastectomy, after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, she definitely appreciates the little things in life that much more.
The actress reveals:
- "I want to be the ultimate burper and diaper-changer, I want to be the ultimate at all of it. Sometimes I stand there going, 'I'm not doing any of this right!' And then I get this big man belch out of her and I go, 'Ah, we accomplished this together'."
Congrats to the happy couple! Now when's the wedding?
Find out what Applegate had to say about going through her battle with breast cancer, after the jump ...
Christina Applegate tells PEOPLE: "I've had to talk about that word [cancer] more than I've ever had to talk about a word in my life. After a while you're like, 'There's got to be something else to me'." On August 3, 2008, People magazine reported that Applegate had been diagnosed with breast cancer. This was confirmed by her representative, who said in a statement: "Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor-ordered MRI, the cancer is not life-threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time". On August 19, 2008, Applegate announced she was cancer free after a double mastectomy, even though cancer was found in only one breast. The actress said when she first was diagnosed: "I was just shaking and — and then also immediately, I had to go into 'take-care-of-business-mode'" which included a change to a more healthy diet."
