Lower gas prices? By boycotting fake fur? I am in 100%. I have looked into the petroleum based products and want nothing to do with with this ozone and resource depleting product. Okay, I am for once impressed by the comments and the photo, eliciting debate, on this website. I have to say, after reading all the comments, that I agree with both sides. Cruelty to animals is wrong, and indulgent use of our earth's resources is wrong, too. Therefore, I think the best rule of thumb is to CONSUME LESS. Period. Stop buying so much stuff that we do not need.

There are not enough resources in this world to breed animals for humans, period. It's one of the major causes of global warming.

There are over 21 billion livestock animals in the world - compare that to the human population.

All these animals need food grown for them, which humans could eat. But no, we grow food for animals which we also grow then eat them. What a watse of energy and land. This food is usually grown in the rainforest (rainforst destruction accounts for 25% of contribution to greenhouse gases). Rainforest is also cleared for cows.

Cows also create ONE HELL OF A LOT of methane, which is a gas 25 times worse for global warming than CO2.

As developing countries become richer, they will start to eat more like western countries, adding to the problem.
