Clint Eastwood Chats About His Appearance At The Republican National Convention
Posted on Thu Sep 20, 2012 10:15 AM PDT
Clint Eastwood is speaking out about his appearance at the Republican National Convention, and the 82-year-old actor reveals that not only is he a libertarian, but he doesn't care what anyone thinks about his speech!
"If somebody's dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they're going to have to take what they get," Eastwood told Extra.
"The Democrats who were watching thought I was going senile. And the Republicans knew I was!" he joked to Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday. Eastwood noted that he takes issue with any government interference in citizens' personal lives, including attempts to define marriage, same sex or otherwise, through legislation. Um, so why was he appearing onstage with Paul Ryan?!
Clint added, "[It's] a part of the Libertarian idea: Leave everybody alone!"
Check out some snaps of Clint at the Hollywood premiere of Trouble with the Curve last night!
Wonder why he even agreed to appear at the RNC in the first place?
