Courtney Love Loses Legal Guardianship Of Her Daughter To Kurt's Family

Troubled rocker Courtney Love has lost legal guardianship of her 17-year-old daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, to Kurt Cobain's mother and sister.
Court documents filed Friday show that Cobain's mother, Wendy O'Connor and Kimberly Dawn Cobain, Kurt's sister, have temporary guardianship over the tot, which includes overseeing the well-being of her personally, as well as her finances. They will not, however, have any power over her estate.
Courtney Love was not present at the hearing, which was presided over by the same judge who heard Britney Spears' conservatorship case.
Love had previously lost custody of her daughter to O'Connor, but regained guardianship in 2005.
Why did they wait so long to intervene?
