Courtney Love's Twitter Account Suspended In Wake Of Defamation Suit

Poor Courtney Love just can't catch a break.
Days after news breaks about rocker Courtney Love's upcoming defamation trial - regarding March 2009 Twitter rants Love made about fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir - the singer's Twitter account CourtneyLoveUK has been suspended, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The trial date has been pushed from January 18th to February 8th.
This will be the first ever high profile defamation trial over a celebrity's Twitter comments. Whatever happened to free speech?

You would that X17, a public medium, would know about libel and defermation. I don't know what Courtney said but if she told lies about somebody for the world to see, people can sue. Freedom of speech is not the right to lie.

Amy - it's DefAmation! And free speech is not an absolute right; it is subject to restrictions - like hate speech, incitement to violence, yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater and libeling or defaming someone (basically lying about them either verbally or in print). Reasonable, yes?
