The stars were out in droves for Z100's annual Jingle Ball in NYC last night, and while some got into the Christmas spirit with festive frocks, others showed a more demure side. Well, demure for them anyhow.
Rihanna looked great in black & white, while Lady Gaga (who's pretty interchangeable with Xtina these days) opted for white.
The tweeners, David Archuleta ditched the ugly sweater while Jesse McCartney dressed up in leather.
And Ashley and Leona looked flirty and feminine in (mostly) black!

While we have to give David props for performing at a special Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in Hollywood to raise awareness and money for a children's AIDS charity, we cannot under any circumstances condone his choice of sweater.
Seriously, it's argyle, it's striped on the sleeves and the back - not to mention that it's a boring brown and tan - where's the Christmas spirit in that?!?

American Idol winner David Cook and runner-up David Archuleta sat down with Details magazine to talk about their upcoming albums and life on tour.
Archuleta tells the mag his fans aren't as "freaky" as Cook's, and that one time while the two were sharing the stage a fan tossed her underwear on stage. Cook then threw the panties at Archuleta. "I was like, 'Oh Nasty!' I freaked out," Archuleta told the mag.

David Archuleta might have come up short against David Cook on American Idol this year - but he's scoring some sweet revenge on the Billboard charts!
This season's runner-up debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #2 (and #1 on the Hot Digital Songs list) after moving a staggering 166,000 copies of "Crush", his first post-Idol single. By contrast, Cook - whose own chart debut broke a couple of records set by the Beatles - couldn't chart any higher than #3 his first time around!
As a result of his Billboard victory over Cook, Archuleta becomes only the second runner-up in Idol history to outperform the season's winner. (Clay Aiken was the first way back in 2003, when "This Is The Night" beat out winner Ruben Studdard's "Flying Without Wings" for the #1 spot on the Hot 100.)
Of course, with both Davids' debut albums set to drop this fall, this battle's a long way from over - who you got?

American Idol runner-up David Archuleta, 17, has signed a deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records.
In a statement released on Jive's official website, Archuleta says, "Signing a record contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records is truly a dream come true. Being a fan of American Idol since season one and admiring the alumni, I am honored and humbled to be a part of that group. I'm really excited to start working on everything."
Simon Fuller, creator of American Idol and chief executive and founder of 19 Entertainment Label Group, adds, "It was fascinating to watch David's journey through Idol. He is a genuine pop star, and is a gifted singer who instantly won over a huge audience when he first appeared on the show. Since then, he has dealt with the pressure and the high level of expectation with real fortitude; he's given us some of the best performances of the season. Without question David Archuleta has a great future ahead of him."
Yesterday, David posted a lengthy Myspace vlog thanking fans and giving them updates on his life. Needless to say, we're hoping his upcoming album doesn't drag on like the video blog does!
