Becks To Spend Six Weeks On The Shelf?

Bad news, footy fans - we may be seeing even less of David Beckham in action! The LA Galaxy's most famous face sprained his kneee in the thirtieth minute of Wednesday night's SuperLiga trophy final against Pachuca after tripping over the ball, necessitating that the superstar be pulled before halftime. The rest of the Galaxy gave a heroic effort battling back to tie the game at one goal apiece, but ultimately succumbed when the game went to penalty kicks.
ESPN reports that doctors are estimating that Beckham's injury may take up to six weeks to fully heal. Hopefully David's able to beat that prognosis and recover even more quickly - although we certainly wouldn't fault him for simply enjoying six weeks off with his wife and kids!
Injuries may have plagued Beckham during his whole career, but don't go assuming that he's made of glass - after all, prima donnas rarely win roles on England's World Cup squad as crucial as David's was in 2002!

I dont think its the fact that he doesnt wanna play anymore, I think he would rather just go back to play in Europe. I mean think about it, he's offered alllll this money to come to America and play in hopes of getting americans more involved with soccer. He accepts, but yet how many games has he played? news flash for those of you who obviously didn't watch the game, he didn't trip on the ball he got hurt from a tackle by one of the Pachuca players, but like I said you wouldn't know anything if you didn't watch the game, and if you didn't then you have no say. And who ever said he didn't want to play anymore, ya that makes a lot of sense considering he flew from New York after a game on a Saturday, to play a game in England on the Wednesday and then flew back to LA to play on the Thursday, some people should really think before they type some of the comments that I read. I would love to see the people saying that soccer is not difficult go out and play against some of these MLS teams, they play rough that is what this league is known for so you know what I would like to see you play the games that these guys play and then you can make a comment, but until then SHUT UP!!!
