AM's Girlfriend Speaks: "We Were Very Much Together At The Time Of His Passing"

DJ AM's girlfriend has broken her silence over the death of her boyfriend, and hit out at reports that her breakup with him is the reason for his tragic overdose.
In a statement to Us, Hayley Wood said:
"Any indication that this horribly tragic accident happened because of a rumored breakup is not only untrue but disgusting. We were very much together at the time of his passing, and I love him very much."
Our heart goes out to Hayley during this difficult time.
So sad!

I feel really sorry for her and specially for DJ AM's family. I lost my boyfriend of six years in a car crash due to drunk driving... is the most horrific think to lose someone you love out of the blue... and also being a addict/drinker in recovery I know the triggers, so please, is not because of money or anything else, addiction is a sickness that takes over you... so please don't say anything bad about him, please

This sentence sounds very carefully worded. Why were there reports of the break up if it did not happen? This sounds like they broke up and were together as friends as she does not want to be held to blame for this tragic accident. I do not think she needed to make statements because she is not to blame. He was a good looking guy and popular etc. so he dated girls, broke up with girls, and girls broke up with him too so break-ups are not a big deal. I am sure he had tons of women around him so this speculation is kind of random - he would have found a new gf eventually.
