Elton John is being treated at Cedars-Sinai hospital in LA for a "serious" respiratory infection, according to the singer's rep.

After undergoing numerous tests, the 65-year-old performer's rep released the following statement:

"Those tests resulted in the attending physician recommending that Elton not perform any concerts for approximately seven days with complete rest and antibiotic treatment to cure his respiratory infection and prevent any damage."

The "Rocket Man" singer became ill following a Vegas performance on May 20. He's currently performing in Sin City at The Colosseum for his "Million Dollar Piano" concert dates, however his current illness has forced him to cancel several shows.

John released the following statement to his fans:

"All I can say to the fans is sorry I can't be with you. I hope to see you soon at this wonderful theatre at Caesars Palace."

I'm sure they'll understand, Sir Elton. Get well soon!

David Furnish, Elton John's hubby, is speaking out regarding his remarks against Madonna following her Golden Globes win for Best Original Song for the W.E. tune "Masterpiece."

On his Facebook page, Furnish wrote, “Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!”

After creating such a stir on the internet, Furnish clarified his comments. He wrote:

“Wow! What a tempest in a teapot. My comments regarding The Golden Globes have been blown way out of proportion. My passion for our film ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’ and belief in Elton’s song really got my emotional juices going."

Elton John and Bernie Taupin were up for Best Original Song for "Hello Hello." Furnish added:

“I must say for the record that I do believe Madonna is a great artist, and that Elton and I wish her all the best for next week’s premiere of the film ‘W.E.”

Too little, too late? We have a feeling Madonna could care less.

David Furnish is not a Madonna fan, and he proved it after going off on Madge following her Golden Globes win for her song "Masterpiece" from the movie W.E.

Elton John's hubby Tweeted, "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!"

Furnish went on to write, "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissism. And her critisism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is."

Yikes! We'll see if the Material Girl responds.

Elton John will be publishing the book "Love Is The Cure: Ending the Global AIDS Epidemic" which is described as his "personal experiences in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The "Rocket Man" singer, who created the Elton John AIDS Foundation, said the following about the cause:

“This is a disease that must be cured not by a miraculous vaccine, but by changing hearts and minds, and through collective effort to break down social barriers and to build bridges of compassion. Why are we not doing more? This is a question I have thought deeply about, and wish to answer – and to help change – by writing this book.”

The book will also include personal stories from other celebrities, like Freddie Mercury and Ryan White, who have had to personally deal with the disease.

Proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Elton John is moving forward with plans for his upcoming biopic, and the "Rocket Man" wants "Sexyback" singer Justin Timberlake to play the starring role.

John, who says the film will be "in the manner of Moulin Rouge," tells the LA Times:

"Number on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of 'Rocket Man' and was superb."

The 64-year-old singer will also serve as executive producer. Timberlake has not officially been offered the role.

Sir Elton John doesn't mind getting his hands dirty ... or wet!

The new daddy, along with hubby David Furnish and son Zachary, got up close and personal with a dolphin at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta.

Elton, 64, has no problem bending over to pet his finned friend. Too bad he and David appear to be having way more fun than little Zach.

We're trying really hard, but it's nearly impossible for us to stop cooing over Elton John and husband David Furnish's adorable son.

Seven-month old Zachary Jackson Levon looked positively adorable in a tiny fisherman's hat and bright orange life vest as his proud papas held on tightly to him during at Club 55 in Saint-Tropez Thursday. The happy couple was joined on their extended vacation by David's family, including parents Jack and Gladys and brothers John and Peter.

Elton even gave a quick wave from the yacht before continuing to chat with friends and dote on his adorable tot.

Life's a beach for Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish!

The happy pair are vacationing in St. Tropez on the singer's exclusive yacht, and they brought along How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris, and his actor/chef partner David Burtka along for the fun!

Elton and David brought their adorable baby son, Zachary Levon, born on Christmas Day, while Harris and Burtka treated their 10-month-old twins Gideon and Harper to a posh vacation on John's yacht. Let's hope they are able to get some peace and quiet on this trip!
