Elton John Too Old To Adopt

No sooner did Elton John announce he wanted to adopt a 14-month old Ukrainian orphan struggling with HIV, than the country's Family, Youth and Sports Minister Yuriy Pavlenko, say that law would prevent the singer and his partner, David Furnish, from bringing little Lev home.
Pavlenko told the AP that Ukrainian law requires an adoptive parent to be no more than 45 years older than the child. John is 62.
But his age isn't the only hurdle - John's apparently also too gay to adopt! The law requires adoptive parents to be married. Even though John and Furnish are married (or "civil-unioned"?), the Ukraines don't accept same-sex marriage.
However, the law wasn't exactly on Madonna's side when she adopted Mercy, either, but she found a way, and somehow, if Elton John persists, we think he'll find a way, too!
In this case, that's really sad, he's a sick boy, he could have a good home!

Come on! Just because they're gay & old, doesn't mean they wouldn't be able to provide this kid a very good home! Any child would be so lucky as to have a home with two parents who love each other (no matter what sex they are), to take them in & love them unconditionally. Elton - you & hubby can always adopt a 32yr old mother if you want to if this doesn't work out.

I don't think Elton and David were serious about adopting the baby. They were thinking about their ages but still expressed a desire about how they would have liked to adopt him. Too bad as the baby is HIV Positive and he will never be adopted by anyone.
That is exactly what's wrong with this world. People would rather sit in judgement and be on their moral high horse, than give a child with HIV a fighting chance at life. There is no way you can convince me that this child is better off to die in an orphange with HIV rather than be given to two committed RICH gay men who could prolong, and enhance this child's life. God will never have anything good to say about this.

I strongly oppose allowing these perverts to adopt children. The Ukraine is right to forbid them to and I hope they stick to their guns.
