Farrah Fawcett Snubbed By Oscars' In Memoriam
Posted on Mon Mar 8, 2010 08:35 AM PDT

Farrah Fawcett was noticeably absent from Oscar's In Memoriam segment last night.
The Charlie's Angels actress who passed away on June 25th of last year and also starred in films Dr. T and the Women, Cannonball Run and The Apostle didn't make the final cut of the package that remembers artists who passed away in the year before the Oscars.
But Farrah wasn't the only popular star to be snubbed. The Golden Girls' Bea Arthur was also missing from the remembrance.
Sure, they're both primarily TV stars, but Michael Jackson was mostly a recording artist and he got plenty of screen time.
Brad Renfro last year, Farrah and Bea this year? Why couldn't they make room?!!?

It's a real shame that she was not included. Her contribution to TV and film is well documented and there is no excuse for her to be omitted. The Academy made a major mistake and it's extremely disrespectful to have not featured her in the montage.
The reason the gals did not get mentioned is that they are WHITE and we know the liberal hollywood folks do not want to upset the blacks, since they are the ones who go to see their movies, ya sure.
I don't understand why they left her, but you're mean saying Michael didn't deserve his tribute. Maybe ha made music but he made music VIDEOS that changed the world, and more than I can remember than Farah Fawcett BIG movies ... so your remark is a bit unfair to him.
But I don't approve Farah being left off the video.
MJ was an entertainer whose appeal and innovation transcended just 'music,' thank you very much. His short films forever changed the scope in the music/music video industry, and Thriller was recently preserved in the U.S. film registry. Enough with the snarky comments about him.
I could say something about how Farrah hadn't nearly reached MJ's level of success or made as much of a mark on the world the way he did, but I actually do agree it's unfortunate she was left out of the montage.
Farrah Fawcett couldn't act, maybe that had something to do with it.
Also Paul Newman did not get a mention either :( he was super hot
She was a druggie and neglected her kid and didn't do much film work there..k
No one will ever be as cool and talented as Newman. Fawcett was an iconic beauty and actress. Both should have been remembered.
Oscar's In Memoriam segment last night. nuch like farrah at last years oscars when heath ledger mentioned there was another actor that was not mentioned his name was
Brad Renfro. is this a growing trend?
Brad Renfro actually was mentioned
They also omitted ROBERT GINTY,he was in an Academy Award winning film-''Coming Home'' In past years they have done a much better job-this was a very unprofessional segment-if they had added a minute to this segment no-one would have minded the show overrunning by 31 minutes-it was very disrespectful.
Paul Newman was awesome...but he passed in 2008.
Michael Jackson was Michael Jackson, I'm not saying that Farrah didn't deserve to be mentioned, I just think the comparison is useless.
Oh..and plus Michael Jackson serves them to make more money, this is the reason he's so celebrated now, and so mistreated when he was in life. Killed and celebrated to make MONEY. Maybe Farrah doesn't serve them to make that.
PATHETIC.....
