The controversy surrounding the remains of Gary Coleman continues. X17online has just obtained the following statement from Frederick Jackman, attorney for Gary Coleman's parents:

There seems to be a notion that Gary's mom and dad have given up their fight for Gary's remains and his estate. This is incorrect. There was no fight. When they were made aware of the controversy in Utah, the lack of funds to care for Gary and the divorce from Shannon, they took the proper legal steps. They are, as they always have been, his family and they were the only ones that had the legal power to deal with his remains. When a will was found, assuming it was valid as it appears to be, then that also legally dealt with the issue. They have suffered in silence for years regarding the stories told about them and their relationship with their son. They would like to now be left alone to grieve in private. They are thankful for all the positive concern and love that was felt by many for their son. They are saddened by the ongoing interest in Gary's past personal struggles and wish, that now that he is gone, those could be laid to rest as well.

As for the photos of Coleman's body, they have yet to appear in a publication, but are expected to hit newsstands soon. X17online brought you the exclusive statement from Coleman's attorney, Randy Kester, who said the thought of those pictures "turns my stomach."

No official funeral date for Gary Coleman has been announced, but sources tell us that his body is expected to be cremated by the end of the week.

According to various online reports, pictures have been sold of Gary Coleman's body ... taken after he died.

Coleman's lawyer, Randy Kester, tells X17online exclusively:

"That just turns my stomach. I don't understand how somebody could take pictures of their dead loved one and try to make money."

Kester adds that as of now, "No probate has been filed."

Sources tell X17online that Shannon Price, Gary's ex, has been floating the pictures around to see how much money she could get for them. As for the buyer, the tabloid that allegedly purchased the pics has not been revealed.

In addition to the will that Price has presented, sources say that Dion Mial, a former manager for Coleman, has also come forward with a will ... this one dated back to 1999. According to that document, it names Mial as the executor to Gary's estate. We're told Mial has retained an attorney in Salt Lake City, Utah in order to keep Price away from the estate.

Our source adds that if pictures of Gary's body are printed in a publication, it's almost certain lawyers will go after any profits made from the sale.

Gary Coleman's funeral is scheduled for this weekend at Lake Hills Mortuary in Sandy, Utah. However, a dispute between Gary's ex, Shannon Price, and his parents over the actor's remains, have stalled the burial.

X17online exclusively has learned that Coleman's parents, Sue and Willie Coleman "will no longer see a need to proceed with a Formal Probate of their son's estate." According to Frederick Jackman, attorney for the Colemans, will and trust documents have been provided.

We've just obtained the following statement from Frederick Jackman, on behalf of Sue and Willie Coleman:

"The Colemans will not be filing for Formal Probate. From the start, Mr. and Mrs. Coleman's intention has been to see that Gary's wishes be honored and that his affairs be taken care of properly. They wanted to do things right away, and they urge those still involved to do the same. The Colemans ask that everyone please treat Gary with respect and kindness. They feel it is time for him to find peace and let his spirit go."

Gary Coleman died a week ago on May 28 at the age of 42. No official funeral date has been announced.

Gary Coleman will be laid to rest this weekend at Lake Hills Mortuary in Sandy, Utah ... less than 20 miles from Salt Lake City.

Coleman's attorney, Randy Kester, reveals to X17online exclusively that a trust is being organized by Gary's mom and dad, and widow Shannon, to offset the funeral and burial costs. Kester tells us that the funeral will take place either Friday or Saturday. However, the family has not yet decided whether the service will be private or open to the public.

A source close to Coleman adds, "No one has located or presented a formal will or trust. We don't know how much money Gary had when he died. This happened so quickly. No plans were made."

As for Kester's thoughts on Coleman's passing, he tells X17online, "For such a little guy, he sure left a big impact on people. We've been getting calls from all over the world. It's incredible. He was such a fun guy to be around."

Gary Coleman passed away at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center at 12:05pm MST due to complications from a brain hemorrhage.

It's being reported that Gary's wife Shannon made the choice to pull life support, and several close friends and family members were by his side at the time.

Coleman's rep released the following statement:

"Thanks to everyone for their well wishing and support during this tragic time. Now that Gary has passed, we know he will be missed because of all the love and support shown in the past couple of days. Gary is now at peace and his memory will be kept in the hearts of those who were entertained by him throughout the years."

The hospital will hold a press conference at 3pm PST.

Gary Coleman was arrested on charges of domestic assault in Utah Sunday.

The pint-sized star was taken into custody one misdemeanor count of domestic assault, and is currently being held on on $1,725 bail, according to Access Hollywood.

Authorities would not id the victim, but Coleman's wife, Shannon Price, was also arrested on domestic violence charges back in 2008.

UPDATE - Coleman was NOT arrested on assault charges, but for failure to appear in court, according to a police statement. The Santaquin City, Utah police say no charges have been filed against the actor but that they did respond to his home on Sunday for a "civil disturbance."

"During the course of the investigation, a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear was located for Gary Coleman," the statement reads. "Mr. Coleman was taken into custody and booked at the Utah County Jail without incident. The arrest warrant is unrelated to the original [call]." The statement gave no further detail.

The actor posted bail and was released.
