Posted on Wed Jan 11, 2012 06:30 AM PDT

Two Golden Globe nods could mean a second Oscar for George Clooney!
Looking incredibly dapper in a classic black suit, the actor stopped by Good Morning America in NYC to chat about his double Golden Globe noms for The Ides of March and The Descendants, and he also took the opportunity to get a bit political.
The Obama supporter confessed:
“I’m a Democrat — I’m a believer,†Clooney said. “I think he’s done a wonderful job, I think he’s having a tough time in a difficult environment. I root for him. I root for the President of the United States.â€

Clooney is a huge supporter of the President, but he won't participate in campaigns. “I didn’t do any campaigning. Because I’m a big believer–I really don’t think it helps much to have well-known, famous people campaigning for you. I don’t think that does you a lot of good,†he said.
