George Is A Giver
Posted on Mon Nov 19, 2007 12:45 PM PDT
As if we needed any more reasons to love George Clooney! The Ocean's Thirteen hunk has generously donated $25,000 to writers in lieu of the recent (and ongoing) strike. Hot damn! George gave the money to the New York-based Actors Fund, which provides emergency relief for entertainment industry workers, telling Variety: "My hope is that people who can afford it will take responsibility for this and help out."
Well said - let's hope others follow his example!
The world needs more do-gooders like George!

This cocksucker is just trying to generate positive plubicity for himself since Fabio nearly handed him his ass for name calling some fans in a resuraunt.
He used to be hot.... oh well...
Hot! But please skip your stupid girlfriend.
Wait, does this charity also help out the hundreds of people besides the writers, like the stage crew, and the make up artist, etc????
Thats who they should be giving money too. The writers will get a grip of money if everything goes thier way, but what will the rest get????
clooney looks terrible.
the tide's turning against him.
25,000 is nothing for him!
Yes, Jessy, he said he chose Actors Fund because they can help ANYONE in the entertainment industry who are affected by the strike - from craft service workers to assistants - and it's not for loans, it's for grants - they don't have to pay it back. He also said this is the first donation, that he plans to continue donating to Actors Fund as long as the strike continues
I don't like that guy and I agree with the first poster. fabio FTW!
I haven't seen any other actor reach into his or her own wallet to donate anything -- other than donuts, (Jay Leno). He's always one of the first to donate some money, i.e., Hurricane Katrina...
Actually John Stewart is paying the wages of his writers.
he's angling for a career in politics or some significant element of influence on behalf of his handlers, perhaps. he's a conduit and a mouthpiece for the forces behind his success. take a look.
He is super hot!!!

"In lieu of" means "instead of," not "in light of." That makes no sense at all.
This male look of stubble on the chin is awful. Why must women Stars look gorgeous and the males look like bums?
When will this fashion fad pass dead into the night? More than sick of males who look ugly.
Just a grab for publicity. Letterman is paying the wages of his staff 'til the strike ceaes. Jon Stewart is paying is staffs' wages. Leno has "taken care of" his writers. Go George, you're so.... oh, forget it.
I am so sick of everybody worrying about the Writer's in this strike! It was their choice to walk out of the talks when they were starting to get somewhere! What about the people that lost their jobs due to the strike that they didn't want?? Why aren't they getting free stuff and people to pay their bills??!!! Only the Above-the-line Unions strike yet they still get residuals while they aren't working!!! The Below-the-line employees get fucking nothing!!! This needs to be talked about. That is all.
It's too bad he seems to prefer to cover for the genocidal blue chip corporations that are the real cause of chaos in the Sudan. The $ 91 Billion dollars in blue chip investments in Darfur,Sudan is the problem and not the Chinese, contrary to the wrong direction clooney insists on leading the public. Just like the other notorious george ,this george likes the profit off of genocide just like every other american invovled. Totally without conscience, americans who chose to hold off characterizing Sudan as a genocide while the laast of american investors took years before they decided to pull out their investment capital after many years of profits. Calpers and Harvard and others pulled out before warren buffet, the game, stocks, as usual, the rhythm method, who can wait until the last moment before pulling out.
yeah well he could give me one....
first off the last time fabio got beat by a bird.... fabio is the pussy that was on the floor, what a punk. George is the man.
jessy 1:09 i was wondering the same thing.. i think it's unfair for the writers to keep this strike up just to make their fat wallets even fatter, while all the rest of the set crew are Sh** out of luck.
LOOK AT THAT MAN! HOW SEXY IS THAT!!
This guy is so old and ugly. He'll be wearing a diaper in a few years.
