Being liberal and condoning teenage pregnancy are two separate matters... By the way, "liberals" at least acknowledge that teenagers are having sex and that sex ed should be more than telling them not to have sex (i.e. abstinence), which "conservatives" are so prone to doing, yet when they see their system of abstinence only fails they congratulate the teen mother on keeping her baby...WTF? Maybe if teens were taught SAFE sex in addition to the idea of waiting til it's the right time, they wouldn't have to worry about keeping a baby! BTW I consider myself somewhat "liberal" yet I in fact waited til after I was an ADULT to have sex... we had sex-ed in our high school that was pretty equivalent to a college course and I did not stray from my fundamental value of waiting til I was in fact READY and an adult who could deal with the consequences of what having sex might bring because I was informed. I think George is hot even as he's getting older. I got married then had the sex. My husband died a long time ago now but it wasn't until I got a boyfriend that I could tell good sex from bad sex. My husband was the only man I had ever been with so I didn't know if he was big or small, or if he was good in bed or bad? To me it was something special we did together. I never had a complaint but when your husband is the only one you've been with you can't complain because you don't know any better or worse? It worked for me. Now the kids want to have a lot of sex first and experiment a lot before they get married or not, they have babies just to have them so this gengeration is way different. If they are happy this way then good for them.

Oh yeah all the 16 year old girls in my neighborhood pushing strolers are on welfare. The baby daddy's come around to get more sex but don't give these girls anything for the baby or for the girls themselves. Let me keep it simple so you get it... 1)being liberal does not equal having no values/morals/fear of God 2) teaching teenagers there ARE consequences to having sex in sex-ed rather than only telling them to just wait makes a difference ... I tried illustrating these points by refering to my own life experience... I was taught of the consequences and as such I chose NOT to have sex until I was old enough to deal with the potential consequences. I think it's a far more intelligent approach than to just tell me not to do something "because I will go to hell", which my parents never used as a parenting technique though we are God-fearing people. And yet somehow I've managed to lead a productive drug-free life without any unintended pregnancies, go figure. I understand this concept may ellude you, so I hope you get it this time around.
