Giuliana Rancic To Undergo Double Mastectomy

TV personality Giuliana Rancic will have a double mastectomy and immediate reconstruction, she announced this morning on The Today Show.
Giuliana and her husband Bill Rancic chatted with Ann Curry and revealed that after some careful consideration, this was the only option for them. "For me, it was important to get the cancer out," the E! host said. "That's what I wanted to do, just get it out ... At the end, to be honest, all it came down to was just choosing to live, and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life." Rancic was diagnosed with breast cancer back in October, and she is set to have the procedure next week.
Rancic said her husband's support helped her make the decision to have both of her breasts removed. "Bill said to me, 'I just need you around for the next 50 years, kid,'" she said. "He said, 'I don't care what you look like, I don't care about the physical portion of this.' And that certainly helped me come to a decision." She added, "I couldn't be more at peace with the decision. But it's hard, and I still break down some nights ... But I'm okay."
"Am I scared? Yes. Scared of the unknown. Scared of the pain," Rancic confesses. "But I'm not scared of what I'll be like. I'll have scars, but I like scars. Scars are beautiful because they tell a story. I'll be able to say that I survived something major and it's made me stronger. I will be a better woman for it."

Giuliana, i am not sure if you read these posts or not, I hope you see this one, because i adore both you and Bill..i think the two of you make an example of what a true marriage is all about, The love the two of you have for each other is amazing. I love your show and feel as if we friends...iam praying for you "G" and for Bill because i know he is strong but this has got to be hard on him too for the fact of how true his love for you is. Please stay strong, your doing the right thing, Oh, and thank you so much for keeping those of us who care so much...informed, Love you girl, you will be fine...sending prayers and hugs to you!

This poor woman. First she can't have children, and now she has breast cancer. I have a friend who, all she wanted was children, and she has to get a hysterectomy, and now can't. She reminds me of her. Brave woman. Good luck, Giuliana. My love, thoughts, and prayers are with you!
You know, I understand cancer in general is a hoo ruble thing to go through & I wish her the best, BUT there is so much breast cancer awareness rallies etc that it sometimes makes people numb about it. Too much of a good thing is not good for sure.
She looks like a human lollypop with her big round head & prepubescent stick figure body. This empty headed unlikable fame whore will milk this surgery for all the publicity she can. She has no boobs so the mastectomy is no big deal visually. She ought to consider having some of the fluid removed from her massive round hydrocephalus looking head.
Who cares about this unlikable catty bobble head looking beeatch? She's unpleasant to look at & even worse to listen to. It's unfortunate she has cancer & I wish her a successful recovery - that said.... I wish she's fade into obscurity & would stop ruining the E! Channel with her presence.

I would do the exact same thing. Breasts are way overrated. Health is more important.
hi I went thru this exact thing 6 months ago, it is a bit painful but for only like 10 days, i am happy i made with my decsion, and hopefully she will be lymph node negative so she will not have to have chemo and just get on with her life.

She looks so skinny! She needs to eat a health food more to make her looks more health and save her from Cancer. She did not eat what she misses her food that important play roles to profect her cancer. She can't get preganay bec she does not eat enough!

I strongly advise you that you have to eat a lot lot lot of fruits to save your life! You must to do it right away! And exerise too!
