sunset towers sunset boulevard after party golden globes Gerard Butler

From Charlize Theron to Gerard Butler (and a woman who was probably not his date), everyone came out to party it up last night after the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

Stars spotted at the Sunset Tower hotel were Leonardo DiCaprio, Jessica Alba and Michelle Williams, and earlier in the evening, Alba tweeted the picture below and wrote, "Whattup! #GoldenGlobes hot Fire Marshall's." Ahh, she may not know when to use apostrophes (or how to spell), but she certainly is a hottie!

Golden Globe Nominations Go To The Artist, Ryan Gosling, George Clooney

Dec 15, 2011 08:02 AM

goldenglobenoms2011.jpg

The Artist picked up six nominations at today's Golden Globe Award nominations announcement. Harvey Weinstein's silent film is a front-runner this awards season.

But the Hollywood Foreign Press Association made some decidedly different choices than the Screen Actors Guild yesterday, with that organization's award nominations announcement. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was snubbed Wednesday by SAG, while the film picked up two nods today for -- one for Mara Rooney in the Best Drama Actress category and for Best Score.

The Globes has set up an interesting face-off between Ides of March co-stars George Clooney and Ryan Gosling, both nominated in the Best Actor category, though Clooney for The Descendants. But Clooney's got enough other chances to pick up a prize ... he was also nominated for Best Director for Ides and the film is named in the Best Motion Picture and Best Original Screenplay categories. Clooney's dramedy The Descendants is also vying for Best Motion Picture. And Gosling also has a chance to win an award with his Best Comedy-Musica Actor nom for Crazy Stupid Love.

The Help picked up five nods, as did Clooney's Descendants.

Brad Pitt (Moneyball) and Leonardo DiCaprio (J. Edgar) scored Best Drama Actor nominations.

Other notable noms are those in the Best motion Picture, Comedy-Musical category -- Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, Bridesmaids, The Artist, 50/50, and My Week With Marilyn.

Ricky Gervais Lounges In Ellen's Underwear After Golden Globes

Jan 17, 2011 03:37 PM

Lookin' good Gervais. Is this to fight off all the "chubby" jokes from Sunday's show?

While most of Hollywood is in an uproar over the awesomely funny, yet totally controversial comments made by Ricky Gervais during his now-infamous Golden Globes hosting gig, the original Office star spent the better part of Monday lounging in Ellen DeGeneres' underwear on a hotel balcony in LA. Loves it!

DeGeneres recently shared via her Twitter: "Please enjoy this photo of Ricky Gervais in my underwear", and we can't thank her enough for this shot. Our new favorite funny guy will be stopping by Piers Morgan's new CNN interview show tonight, and we can't wait to hear what he's going to say about the backlash from Sunday.

Morgan Tweets:

"One thing I can guarantee - Mr Gervais won't be offending me, whatever he does during our interview. More outrageous the better."

We will definitely be watching.

Everyone was getting their flirt on last night!

Despite the fact that Jake Gyllenhaal took former girlfriend (and Rilo Kiley singer) Jenny Lewis to the Golden Globes last night as his date, the hunky Love and Other Drugs actor is rumored to have been chatting up Camilla Belle, according to online reports.

Clearly he's over poor Taylor Swift!

Meanwhile, Country Strong stars Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund were "inseparable the entire night," a party guest tells Us.

The young lovers attended HBO's GG after party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel's Circa 55 and spent the evening with their arms wrapped around each other. Two cute!

Meester split from her Gossip Girl co-star Sebastian Stan last year.

Former Golden Globes Publicist Sues Hollywood Foreign Press Association For Accepting Bribes

Jan 17, 2011 02:47 PM

It seems Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais' cracks about the Hollywood Foreign Press Association accepting bribes to nominate films like The Tourist weren't too far off.

Former GG lead publicist Michael Russell, who had held his position since 1993, filed a $2 million lawsuit Thursday after he and his company were immediately fired for accusing the HFPA of accepting "payola", aka bribes, in connection with the show.

The suit also claims HFPA president Philip Berk, who is named as a defendant, refused to end the alleged "unethical and potentially unlawful deals" many of the 90-some members engage in.

The suit states:

"Berk expressly acknowledged to Russell that these activities were problematic and the HFPA was a corrupt organization, that it’s members are only out to use the organization to generate income for themselves and that many conflicts of interest exist with regard to the above-specified activities of the HFPA and it’s members."

In case you're wondering what these alleged "bribes" entail, here are a list of allegations from the suit:

-HFPA members accept lavish vacations, junket lodging, gifts and awesome freebies provided by studios, in exchange for their support in nominating specific films.

-Members sell their media credentials for cash by offering space on the red carpet.

-Members offer low profile or unknown media outlets an opportunity to cover the Globes, in exchange for cash.

-Members accept payment from studios and producers for "representing" films

-Members accept payment in exchanged for promoting other HFPA members for Globe nominations and awards.

Reps for the HFPA released a statement claiming the "allegations are completely without merit," and reveal, "this is no more than the case of a disgruntled former consulting firm, whose contract was not renewed, attempting to take advantage once again of the Globe’s international stage for their own gain.”

Those Golden Globes don't come for free!

What went wrong on The X Factor today with Britney Spears?

Britney definitely had another meltdown. This is proof she's not ready to step back into the spotlight!
I think Britney may have overreacted to a bad audition, but it will be entertaining to watch later!
I think Simon Cowell planned this all along. Brit probably even rehearsed it!
