Les Miserables, Argo And Girls Win Big At The 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Jan 13, 2013 09:30 PM

golden-globe-winners-2013.jpg

The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards were hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on Sunday evening, and from jabs at Anne Hathaway's underwear flashing incident to Jodie Foster coming out of the closet, it ended up being quite an eventful night.

Not only did Ben Affleck make up for his Oscar snub with wins for Best Director and Best Motion Picture for Argo, but Girls nabbed two awards (including best TV series) and Les Miserables went home with three, including Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical.

There were some daring dresses (hello J. Lo and Kate Hudson!) and some total fashion fails (sorry Jessica Chastain!), but overall there was plenty of couture to oogle when Hollywood's hottest leading ladies hit the red carpet ... check out the gallery below and click thru for the complete winner's list!

Newly Single Taylor Swift Turns Heads In A Donna Karan Dress

Jan 13, 2013 08:30 PM

She looks great, but not as good as she did in that stunning white Ralph Lauren dress at the People's Choice Awards the other night!

Taylor Swift struck a pose at the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, and she wore a Donna Karan Atelier dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, Rene Caovilla shoes, and an Oroton clutch.

Taylor was nominated tonight for Best Original Song for “Safe and Sound” from The Hunger Games soundtrack, but she lost out to Adele, whose tune for "Skyfall" took home the prize. Better luck at the Grammys, perhaps?

Jodie Foster Comes Out At The 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Jan 13, 2013 08:15 PM

While accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award at Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards, Jodie Foster surprised many viewers when she officially came out as a lesbian. While she has alluded to her sexual orientation in the past (she thanked her partner back in 2007 during another acceptance speech), this is the first time she has made a public statement on the matter. Her moving speech made mention of the importance of privacy and acceptance, and she also explained why she waited so long to make the big public announcement.

“While I’m here being all confessional, I just have the sudden urge to say something I’ve never been able to say in public," Foster began. "A declaration that I’m a little nervous about. Not quite as nervous as my publicist, huh, Jennifer? But uh, you know, I’m just going to put it out there. Loud and proud. I’m going to need your support. I am — single."

Foster then noted that she was kidding (but only kind of) and continued, "I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago, back in the stone age. In those very quaint days when a fragile young girl would open up to trusted friends, and family, coworkers and then gradually, proudly, to everyone who knew her. To everyone she actually met. But now, apparently I'm told, that every celebrity is expected to honor the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance and a primetime reality show. You guys might be surprised, but I'm not Honey Boo Boo child. If you had been a public figure since the time you were a toddler, if you had to fight for a life that felt real and honest and normal against all odds, then maybe you too would value privacy above all else."

gg-noms-2012.jpg

Nominations for the 70th Annual Golden Globes were announced bright and early this morning, and not surprisingly, Ben Affleck's Argo led the pack with five nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay.

Django Unchained nabbed five nominations as well, including a Best Director nod for Quentin Tarantino, along with Best Supporting Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio. Les Miserables snagged four nominations, including a Best Supporting Actress nod for Anne Hathaway. Looks like her weight loss and super short haircut were worth it! But is this an indication of who will be nominated for Oscar gold next month?

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will host the awards show, which airs on Sunday January 13 on NBC.

sunset towers sunset boulevard after party golden globes Gerard Butler

From Charlize Theron to Gerard Butler (and a woman who was probably not his date), everyone came out to party it up last night after the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

Stars spotted at the Sunset Tower hotel were Leonardo DiCaprio, Jessica Alba and Michelle Williams, and earlier in the evening, Alba tweeted the picture below and wrote, "Whattup! #GoldenGlobes hot Fire Marshall's." Ahh, she may not know when to use apostrophes (or how to spell), but she certainly is a hottie!
