College begins for the characters of Gossip Girl! Remember what it was like to be an incoming freshman? I do!
Here's the thing about GG: The first season was the best and that's that, but I still watch for one reason only... Blair Waldorf! She's good when she succeeds, but she's even better when she fails. Whaddya think of her being roomies with Georgina Sparks, arguably the other most interesting character on the series?
I dunno if Queen B will ever be queen at college - it's quite a different world than high school! But watching her having to deal with Georgina on a daily basis? Priceless.

Agreed. Also some of the episodes with her and Ed Westwick were good. The show has lost its way. Too much hyping and overexposure and exploiting the cast (Blake Lively is so blech now.) Too much stunt casting. It was better when they didn't try so hard and the show had a specific style and voice.
That's why I don't like GG no more. It's a big world and how do you end up becoming the roommate of some enemy in your past. It doesn't make any sense.
And I believe they are in NYU. Why do you need to move out if the college is 20 minutes away from your home? Your mom still pays your rent anyway. It's not like you are so independent that you pay your own rent.
